They are open every day except Sundays and Mondays. Lunch is served from 12 to 3 pm, and dinner from 6pm. Kalime bar and snack is located on the Piaye Beach 15 minutes walk. Laborie Village is (5 minute drive or bus ride), has several local bars and restaurants including the Bamboo Bar, and Mama Rose. In Vieux Fort, (10 minutes drive or bus ride) there are several bars and restaurants such as, Lushie, Old Plantation House, Island Breeze, and the Reef Restaurant and Bar. Shopping The largest supermarket is ‘Massey Stores” is a 10 minutes drive from Balembouche. There are small convenience stores in the neighbouring village of Piaye (5 minutes walk) they sell a selection of canned and dry goods, fresh eggs, alcohol etc. There are also local supermarkets, bars, restaurants and fish market 5 minutes drive. Public buses are available. Beaches There are local beaches within walking distance. Closest is 10 minutes the other is 15 minutes walk. There is a beach 10 minutes drive on a bus. The bus service is very good, they run frequently to all towns and reasonable priced. The property borders the main road. Guests can travel around the island utilising public transportation. However, guests wishing to go exploring or sightseeing with freedom then having your own vehicle would be advantageous.
