Artist's Cottage Cove Pt, Pet-Friendly, Lusby MD

A 1958 beach bungalow with an updated modern design, filled with original mid-century furniture, vintage collectables, and original art. The Cottage is a 1 minute walk from the beach, we have a seasonal view of the bay, the beach is 1.7 miles of gentle sloping sand where you can swim, paddle, fish, and collect fossils from the Miocene era . House has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen, sun room, dining room and outdoor shower. Just over 1 hour from the DC area. This artists cottage is a blend of old and new, the owners are artists and love antiques and modern mash up. They have been coming to this area for over 15 years and fell in love with Cove Point. The Cottage yard has been left a little wild with room for our native flowers and other plants to grow to encourage good insects and pollinators to have a home in our beach environment. There is a plastic shed and cedar shed behind the garage with grill, beach chairs, umbrellas, cart, toys, adult and kid life vests, beach blankets and adult and kid bike helmets. You are welcome to use at your own risk, the 2-one person kayaks with paddles or the small play boat kayak. The sunfish sailboat is not for guest use. There are both kid, teen and adult bikes under the black/silver tarps outside for guests to use. We supply: microwave, toaster, coffee maker/filters, blender, pots, pans, utensils, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent, trash bags, gas grill and equipment for grilling. The Cottage is located just over an hour from Washington DC and perfect for a weekend getaway, retreat or week's summer stay. There is also original art for sale in the Cottage by the co-owners as well as found objects for sale at the Cottage. Message us if you see a dates that are booked, often our families are enjoying the Cottage but we would be willing to rent. Pet-friendly, well-behaved pets are welcome too, we do ask for a deposit and $50 pet fee per pet. Guests enter using a keypad entry system on the back door. Guests will have full access to the Cottage which includes an equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms on the first floor, 1 bathroom with shower, outdoor shower, a sun room with sofa bed and couch, and dining room. A large master bedroom with two trundle beds is on the second floor up a flight of narrow stairs with a window seating area. The second floor is not sound proof, you can hear people both upstairs and downstairs. We have a door in front of the stairs to help with noise and one-time use ear plugs in the bathroom. In the bunk room are kids games. In the bunk room there are blankets in the green ottoman. The bunk room has a sliding door for privacy. There is a small deck off the front of the house and large backyard with a picnic table and chairs. We have a seasonal view of the bay in the winter there is a view of the bay from the sunroom and 2nd floor bay window. Guests can access the entire house and backyard. The garage is not accessible for guests. The owners live in DC, access will be through a keyless entry code. Sometimes the owners are down for the day checking on the property or enjoying the beach. The neighborhood is small and quiet. No large parties, events, weddings allowed! This small town is a perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the bay. You can walk and bike throughout the neighborhood or on the beach. Parking in the driveway holds 3 cars. You can parallel park on our side of the grass off the side of the road on either side of our driveway. If you aren't parked on the side of the road in front of our property you will be towed! Guests are also welcome to bring bikes to bike around on the small gravel roads. There is a smart TV in the bunk room, a vintage TV/VHS Combo upstairs, WIFI for guests to bring their own personal devices to stream or watch shows or work remotely. Well behaved pets welcome, we will ask for $200 (refundable) + $50 (non-refundable) per pet before we give the key code for entry. Our manager will confirm no damage was done within 3 days of departure and a $200 deposit will be returned minus $50 per pet fee. If damage was done we will notify the owner to discuss the damage. Owners must bring pet beds/crates to make sure pets don't soil or stain couch/bed/furniture with fabric or linens on it. Dogs are allowed on the beach year round, please keep them on a leash, our HOA requires it all times. Please pick up after you dog if you are on the beach or in the neighborhood or in the backyard. No smoking. No parties, weddings, or events or large groups.
