Our newly renovated 1880s 2-bed, 2 bath coach house is on a quiet street in the heart of Picton village. Surrounded by mature trees, and adjacent to 500 acres of parkland, it's a 5-minute walk to Main Street cafés, breweries, restaurants, shops & art galleries. A great base for exploring PEC: 12 minutes to Sandbanks and a short drive to wineries, breweries, restaurants & shopping in Bloomfield, Wellington, & Hillier. No parties. No pets. We live adjacent to the property. Treetops Cottage is a bright and airy two-storey home in a historic neighbourhood. The first floor includes an eat-in kitchen, living room, bathroom and rear bedroom that gives on to the garden. Upstairs is the second bedroom and main bathroom. The treed, private back garden is complete with BBQ, dining and lounging areas. Groceries, specialty foods and a farmers market are a 5-minute walk away, along with the LCBO, cafés, bakeries, restaurants, a brew-pub, antiques, a bookstore, and the historic Regent Cinema. The County's 62 km cycling trail is a 3-minute ride from the front door. Treetops retains many of the historic features of an 1880s coach-house, along with all the modern touches for a comfortable stay in any season. Ceiling fans in every room keep you cool along with large windows to let in the cool area of the park. The historic stairway is fairly steep leading to the second-floor main bedroom and full bathroom- those with mobility issues should take note. Guests will have exclusive access to the entire property. The driveway is ideal for one car. If there is a second car, it can be parked on the street in front of the house (no parking fee required). Sandbanks Provincial, park with its magnificent beaches, is a 12-minute drive (or 45-minute cycle) away. We live adjacent to the property and guests may contact us either by phone, text or in-person if you require any assistance, information or recommendations for great places to eat and shop or fun things to do in PEC. LGBTQ2 positive and French spoken. While the house is located in the heart of Picton with access to restaurants, cafés and shopping, you'll feel like you are in the countryside because of its proximity to parkland. Across the street is the 120 acre Victorian-era Glenwood Cemetery. Known for its rolling hills, marshland and a small stream that leads to the harbour, it is home to many varieties of local and migratory birds as well as the largest stand of mature trees in PEC including towering Jack Pines, Maples and Blue Spruces. This green space connects to Delhi Park which includes a children's playground. A 10-minute walk from the park's end, or a five-minute drive leads you to Macaulay House Museum and the 440 acre Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area which includes 20 km of trails suitable for walking and mountain bike riding. (URL HIDDEN) There is parking in the driveway, as well as free street parking in front of the house. Cyclists can safely store their bicycles on the property and access to the Millennium Trail is a 2-minute ride way. Local taxis are available for trips around the County and for travel to and from Belleville. The Via Rail station is 35 minutes away in Belleville. If you are taking the train, (or bus) you can take a cab to Picton for a flat rate of $45 from Bluebird taxi in Belleville or Cronkie's Cab in Picton. Central cab in Belleville charges $52 to Picton.
