The cottage is your home for as long as you choose it to be. I hope that you are happy, safe, content while you stay with us. I live 2 blocks away, and I have two other Airbnb rentals. I am as near, or as far as you need me to be. I have deep ties to the university as an alum of both Holy Cross College and Notre Dame. I volunteer on several boards and charities. If you have a need, I can probably find someone to help you fill it! I am happy to meet most guests when they arrive in South Bend/Notre Dame whether it is via car, airport shuttle, or the Northern Indiana Commuter Rail ( South Shore Train.) If this is one of the rare times that I cannot assist you, there is always uber, or the local cab service..which charges $25 flat fee when you arrive. Or $7 flat fee to or from Leprechaun Lodge anywhere within 2 mile radius. I communicate with my guests almost exclusively through Ipad text. I have a follow up cell number for a caretaker, in case I am out of town or unavailable to you. Leprechaun Lodge kitchen will be stocked with fresh fruit, milk, Irish baked oats, coffee, tea, juice, eggs, when you arrive. I will collect the laundry once a week, usually on Tuesday morning; it is often returned by 5 pm on Tuesday, but guaranteed for Wed noon. The house is cleaned weekly for guests staying a month or less; guests staying longer, are responsible for cleaning the house, as they want. A weekly or monthly cleaning service is available for an additional price. It is also possible to have the weekly service of a private chef to cook and leave meals for you to reheat later, for an additional price. I pop in as needed to check on things. I live in the neighborhood and am as near or as far as you need me to be. Keller Park is in the background of Notre Dame, just west of the historic St Joseph River Walk. While Leprechaun Lodge is technically in the city, it fells as if we live in an Irish village. The local grocery, pub, and diner, are a 6 block walk away. The neighborhood is a mixed urban landscape, gradually gentrifying. I love watching the new owners spruce their places up. I really like hearing the sounds of kids riding bikes, walking dogs, giggling over hopscotch. Keller Park is bounded by two woods. The deer run back and forth, and a young buck likes to graze on the apple trees out front. It really feels like the village I grew up in. It is a short walk to campus, or downtown South Bend. You can be on the shores of Lake Michigan, sunning, swimming, sailing in 30 minutes. Or wandering around Goshen, or Wellfield Gardens in Elkhart. Two hours from Chicago, or four from Detroit. Leprechaun Lodge is perfect for weekend getaways. I love that you can grab a bike, go for a run, or take the canoe over to Pinhook Park and the river. Life at Leprechaun Lodge is just slow and easy. Or I try to make it that way for you. The #7 Bus Stop is 3 blocks away. It is, however, much faster to grab a bike, or walk than wait for the bus. Uber is usually here in les than 15 minutes. I am often on campus for class, or driving past. I often drop guests off at campus, or pick them up on my way back. If you have arranged to bring a pet, especially a dog, there is a fenced in backyard, and a kennel. Dogs must be kenneled at night, and in the day, when they are not in the direct care of their owners. There is an additional $150 non refundable cleaning fee for all pets staying at Leprechaun Lodge. Leprechaun Lodge is heated to 68F from September until May 1. It has central air which is set to 78F from June 15 to Labor Day. Bookings are usually for the weekend, weekly, or monthly.
