The perfect starting point to explore the island of Bequia: ten minutes walking distance down the hill into the village, to the next supermarket and to the ferry. 15 minutes to the nearest beach. The Rainbow Castle, built in 2005, is a German/Caribbean Joint Venture. Who likes to discover the Caribbean and its people beyond the typical tourism paths, is at the right spot here. Rainbow Castle Guesthouse is located in Port Elizabeth on Cemetery Hill within a local community. There are 2 apartments in the house and a loft where Conrad and Ina live. Apartment 1 (50 m²) is located on the ground floor. It has one bedroom (double and single bed), shower/toilet, a bright kitchen/living and a private veranda. Occupancy of up to 3 people. A pleasant breeze provides for a comfortable ventilation. The kitchen is spacious and equipped the way that even amateur cooks can enjoy their holidays. Fresh vegetables and fruits can be purchased, according to the season, directly from the organic garden of the landlord at reasonable prices. Bequia is so small that it's a great place to explore on foot, and has wonderful nature and seaside trails. If a set of wheels is what's called for, you'll also find cars, motorbikes, bicycles or taxis to rent. If you don't feel like walking up Cemetery Hill, taxis will take you up for 15 EC Dollars. In the harbor you can hop on a minibus for 1 EC Dollar to go around the island and to the beaches. For water sports fans and ocean lovers Bequia is paradise: sailing, surfing, swimming, snorkeling, diving – the soft Caribbean Sea keeps what her turquoise colours promise to the eye. The annual Bequia-Easter-Regatta, that lasts four days, and the Carnival in June are the highlights of the island's social and cultural life. That’s when people make a several-day celebration out of their desire to bust the routine of their everyday life with sports, rum and music. The vitality is catching.
