Our bright and cozy guest suite, walking distance to the heart of this amazing village, is the perfect spot to hang your hat (or helmet) after a day of adventure. Enjoy the convenience of your own driveway and completely private backyard for the aprés. From local Vancouver Island products, to a dedicated bike area, and a bbq you'll want to pack out with you, we've thought of everything to make this one heck of a base camp! Our Cumberland Base Camp is a 2 bedroom ground level suite with an abundance of natural light. No floors above or below, and a layout with only one shared wall makes for a quiet space all around. Less than a km from the main street and trail head, the most difficult part will be deciding where to go explore next. A separate driveway leads to the fully fenced yard featuring a handmade cedar picnic table, bike stand with secure anchor point, a Weber natural gas grill, a few Adirondack chairs, and patio lights that turn on as the sun drops behind the mountains. The kitchen is well stocked with everything required for most chefs. We have a few of the staples including a spice rack, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, bbq sauce, and olive oil. Oh and don’t worry there’s also coffee that we’ve sourced from Rhino Coffee Roasters in Tofino, to be enjoyed via french press or drip. Prefer tea? We have fresh Denman Island Tea in a couple styles. A toaster, milk frother, kettle, blender, and of course, dishwasher complete the setup. The bathroom has a great tub and shower; with quality soap, shampoo, and conditioner courtesy of Saltspring Island Soapworks. All the essentials to clean up for a night out (or in) are provided, including a hair dryer. You also have your own washer and dryer plus a drying rack for those technical layers. When the weather takes a turn or it’s a rest day, the living room and master bedroom have smart TV’s. Of course, there’s solid wifi throughout. And if the temperature drops, the gas fireplace makes for a very cozy spot to relax. Private driveway and entrance. Only a phone call or text away most days. We love to share recommendations and local hotspots, just ask. The Village of Cumberland, from humble beginnings, to world renowned outdoor activities, come see why we call this place home! 3 min drive, 5 min bike, 10-15 min walk to cafes, bakery, brewery, restaurants, grocery store, and more. 10 min drive to Comox Lake. 30 min drive to Mount Washington Resort and Strathcona Provincial Park.
