This family summer home is TV/internet-free but otherwise has all modern amenities, and is functional not fussy. The property is surrounded by St. Mary's Bay. Explore or lounge. Be together or find solitude. This is a dreamy place. When our family is not gathered here, artists take up residence to make and contemplate. Guests rent the entire property and have use of studio and out buildings. Great spaces to gather to eat and play, but also small spaces to reflect, read, create, or nap. Bedrooms include a flex single bedroom/napping room on first floor for those with limited mobility, and a "Crews Quarters" in bright finished attic that sleeps 4. Main house, barn, studio, drawing & writing shed, trails, and treehouse. Lawn games and bbq. (Kayaks for family only, sorry.) Landline for local calls No internet or cable for unplugged bliss. (Get your wifi fix in Weymouth at the Sissiboo Landing Visitors Center or Public Library.) Only via Airbnb. A local friend is the property caretaker, and can help with any issues, needs, or questions. The property is in New Edinburgh, though the postal address is Weymouth. Neighbors keep to themselves, but will readily stop to chat if you are outside when they walk by. You can get to Nova Scotia by plane, ferry, or car. You'll need a car to get anywhere once in NS. Airbnb rental income supports non-profit artists residencies during off months.
