Cute house in cute beach village!

Enjoy the lovely beach in an undiscovered fishermen village. The perfect place to completely relax while travelling or just for a nice break and be in contact with nature, the impressive beach and the local villagers. This house is located in the wonderfull fishermen village in Barra de Valizas in Uruguay. It is a basic beach house, but it has all the amenities to enjoy a superb break at the beach of Uruguay. The house has one double bed, two single beds and a sofa. In the kitchen you can cook what you want or outside in the huge garden at the famous 'parilla' or BBQ. The bathroom has a shower, a toilet and a small sink. Bedlinnen and towels can be provided for 5 USD per person on request Outside in the garden you can swing in the hammock or at the swing. Chairs to sit outside are available as well. At night you can watch the famous Milky Way, because light pollution doesn't exist over here. Valizas is a special village. There are no paved roads. Dogs, horses, chickens and cows are freely walking on the streets. Fishermen come in by boat every day. The huge sand dunes are impressive and a climb upon them will give you a lovely view! In january and February there's a lot to do in Valizas, live music from reggeastyle to south american pop to live candombe performances, restaurants at the sea who serve a lot of yummy fishfood - crab empanadas for example- or grab a meal at the famous Parilla restaurant where your meat will be prepaired at a BBQ outside. During the other months of the year you will find the true sprit of Valizas, with the locals strolling along the beach, catching fish or the kids taking swimming lessons in the sea by the local coast guards. Close to Valizas is Cabo Polonio, you can even walk there or just grab the bus which is actually a 10 minute ride. Cabo Polonio is one of the main coastal tourist attractions of Uruguay. You will go there with a 4x4 jeep and see the village where running water and electricity do not exist. The village has a very special atmosphere, good for a daytrip. And there's even a sea lion colony for the animal lovers! On your way to Cabo Polonio you can visit the Monte de Ombues as well. A tour by boat on the Valizas river to the Ombues trees, enormous trees which have been growing here since ages. Within a 40 minute bus ride (only from the 25th of December untill the end of February) you''ll travel to Punta del Diablo. Out of season you should change busses and the trip will take about 1 to 1,5 hours. Punta del Diablo is actually the developed neighbour of Valizas. You will see a lot more tourists over here, but it is still, especially during low season, a magnificent village to explore. Next to Punta del Diablo you can visit the National Park Santa Teresa. We have contacts so that you can rent a bike over there and explore the coast by bike as well. Outside the season I'll be a great host, During high season I'll be quite busy but always willing to help you, give you a ride when possible or I will just leave you alone ;) Whatever you like! Please keep in mind that there are NO ATM's in Valizas. So bring cash. You can change dollars and euros at the supermarkter over here. There are two supermarkets where you can buy all your foodies. Busses- Rutas del Sol- from Montevideo are running three times per day, at 10.10 am, 15.15 pm and 19 pm. The bustrip takes about 4, 5 hours. We can eventually pick you up in Castllos as well, more busses are running to Castillos from Montevideo. The companies COT and Rutas del Sol run several busses per day to Castillos. You will have the whole house for yourself. Baby chair and crib are available on request. Please, ask me before booking if they are available. Bedlinnen and towels for short stays (less than 3 nights) on request, 5 usd per person for the stay. I might be there to welcome you or say goodbye. Thats what I try though, as Im not living in Valizas. Im always available by phone, mail or via chat through Airbnb. Walk along the beach to Cabo Polonio. A two and a half our walk. You will have to cross the lago in by boot, 30 pesos return. Bring water, food etc for your trip. You can also go to cabo Polonio by car (10 minutes) or by bus (less connections during low season) Climb the sand dunes and Enjoy the view of both Barra de Valizas and cabo Polonio. Horse tracking along the coast and through the Woods with the local guides of barra de valizas. Buy fresh fish at the little fishermen village Just before cabo Polonio and visit the monte de ombues (car needed and reservation in advance) Visit the palmares and the magnificent views from the countryside of castillos. Gauchos everywhere! And a lot of birdlife as well. Car needed! National park Santa Teresa is lovely. With forrests, all kind of palm trees, nice beaches and a cute botanic garden in a wonderfull building. Adjacent to the park theres an Old portugués fortress. Car needed as well. From Montevideo at the bus terminal: three busses per day, 4,5 hours ride. There a more connections from Montevideo to Castillos, from there you need to take a taxi which will cost you about 15 usd extra. By car, Just follow the highway number 9 untill Castillos. From there the road signs will show you how to drive. When there's heavy rainfall or thunderstorms, you might be without electricity for an hour or two. Dont worry, it will come back. :-) Please keep in mind that uruguay seems developed when you've only been in Punta del este, but the contrary is sometimes the truth. IMPORTANT TO READ! There is no ATM in valizas, money can be changed at the supermarket without commission. Closest ATM in cabo Polonio (only high season) and Castillos (year round).
