Your hosts will help to make you comfortable whether you have come for an event, to eat and shop, to explore, or just for peace and quiet. A bucolic setting surrounded by green fields and gardens. Hilled pastures for a calming view from your front porch. Out the back door and onto the beautiful back porch, surrounded by plants and serenity and overlooking the fenced, in-ground pool. The porch is large, yet perfect for a romantic dinner on the grill, or enjoying a quiet drink accompanied by birdsong and the occasional deer sighting. Seating, tables and sun or shade, as you like it! A short hike brings you down to the rolling Housatonic River, or access the river via the Appalachian Trail from either Cornwall Bridge (3 Mi) or Kent (5 Mi). You'll be mesmerized by the beauty! A cozy, private space just for you. You have the entire wing of the house, including a large game room on the lower level with pool table, chess table and foosball. Private, quiet and filled with natural light. Your home includes a private front entrance up 6 low-rise steps; front room; living room with two large comfortable chairs couch, cable TV, Wi-Fi and lots of lighting; kitchen with full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, butcher block counters and all amenities; cozy, romantic bedroom with queen-sized bed, loads of closet space, full bath with heated shower bench and full laundry facilities. Please note: pool is seasonal, natural temperature and open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Dermot and Darilyn will be available to make your stay enjoyable. Nestled on the edge of Cornwall Bridge, you are less than a mile from picturesque Kent Falls State Park, a spectacular spot anytime of the year. The picturesque town of Kent, home to the Gilmore Girls reunion, is just 5 miles to the south on scenic Route 7. Your cozy home in the country is located just between the state’s only two historic working covered bridges! Bull’s Bridge is located in South Kent and, traveling north on Route 7, you can explore the much photographed West Cornwall covered bridge. Both span the Housatonic river and abound with wildlife, hawks, bald eagles and hiking trails. The new beauty that comes with each season is the reason we love living here, and the reason you will want to come back, over and over! By car: Travel by car is preferable, as we are in a rural area. We offer parking for up to two vehicles, or additional accommodation upon request and negotiated price. The Metro North train from NYC arrives at the nearby NY stations of Harlem Valley/Wingdale, 10 Mile River or Wassaic, each about a 20 minute drive if you are picking up another guest.
