The house is a sunny, original Edison House design in the heart of beautiful, peaceful, safe Montclair. The decor is modern and spacious. 30 minutes to NYC, 20 minutes to EWR airport, 11 mi to the Meadowlands Sports Complex, home of the NY Jets and Giants, 1 mi to Yogi Berra Stadium at Montclair State University, walking distance to local restaurants, shopping, Brookdale Park Rose Garden, schools, Montclair Art Museum, Presby Iris Gardens, Van Vleck Mansion & Garden and more. Peaceful relaxing dining al fresco on our private deck listening to bird calls and great bird watching during the spring and summer; how about a cup of freshly brewed morning coffee made with our favorite organic French roast?; savor meals from local restaurants; enjoy delicious English scones and traditional fruit pies or meat pasties from Montclair Pie Co. a short 2 blocks away; walk to endless shops, antiques, (and great second hand shops included); drop in to the Montclair Art Museum to view an amazing collection of Hudson River School paintings and American Indian art, all part of the permanent collection! You can also join the bustling energy of New York by way of NJ Transit and DeCamp Bus Line just 30 minutes away. Welcome! The door to the private suite is at ground level. All areas of the suite are private, including the kitchenette and bathroom with a shower. If we're lucky to have a beautiful day, then sitting out on the deck to enjoy birds and sky is a must! Welcome! I will be there to greet you and answer questions about the neighborhood and traveling to NYC. I give my guests space but am available when needed. There's the Montclair Film Festival, Jazz Festival; wind your way through historic town walks to Crane House, the Wellmont Theater, Yogi Berra Museum, the Montclair Art Museum. The Walnut Street Farmers Market runs year round where you can find John's local organic produce, Pickalisious pickles, Montclair Baking Co goods. The house is within a 2 block walk to direct NJ Transit or the DeCamp Bus lines to Penn Station or Port Authority, both major public transportation hubs in New York City where you can subway throughout the city and boroughs. Buses, Zip Cars, walking or cycling will take you anywhere in town. Hello! PARKING There is a parking fee of $5 per night. PETS We love pets but only host pets that are non-shedding, (hypoallergenic), and small, (7-25lbs). We do not host cats. I am extremely allergic to shedding animals and want to keep the unit dander-free for guests who are allergic as well. Guests are welcome to use the kitchenette for light use --making coffee/tea, heating frozen meals, reheating take-out, washing fruit, cereals, yogurt, etc., but not for cooking full meals. Coffees, teas, and milk are available and complimentary! We care a lot about our drinking water! Our water is filtered through a reverse osmosis system--it is considered the purest and most effective filtering system available! Hope you enjoy the great taste of our H2O! Just to keep things fresh and clean, if your reservation spans beyond 2 weeks, there will be an additional cleaning fee of $50 added to the transaction. You know, nothing like clean bedding and bath!
