Ilaló Lodge is a beautiful spot situated on the base of the Ilaló volcano that offers a cozy wooden cabin with one of the most spectacular views of the Andes mountains in all of Ecuador surrounded by several kilometers of walking, biking and birding trails. Breakfast, featuring homemade yogurt, My Artisan Granola, farm fresh eggs, local bread, and homemade seasonal fruit juice, is included and will be served directly to your cabin in an effort to make your experience as safe as possible. Here at Ilaló Lodge you have a 1,700 meters of open space to hike, explore nature, or just relax. The bathroom and shower facility is closely located near the cabin and a shared space with the owners of the property. They have lived both in the United States of America and in Ecuador for many years so they speak both English and Spanish with a large variety of cultural experiences that they love to share. They strive to leave the least amount of footprint on the earth as possible and live to enjoy life and nature at it’s fullest. They will be available for your stay. Ilaló lodge is located in the Village of La Merced (2,700 m - 8,900 ft) on the base of the Ilaló Volcano (peak 3,200 m or 10,500 ft) that is famous for its special energy. It is home to Ruben and Stacey and surrounded by several kilometers of walking, biking and birding trails. La Merced Village, offers among other things, food markets, hot springs, small family restaurants, and traditional cultural celebrations during Carnival, Holy Week, Christmas, New Years, Village days and it’s Patron Saints Day. Ilaló Lodge makes for a wonderful home base to explore other incredible sites such as the capital city, Quito, volcanos Pichincha, Pasachoa, Ruminahui, Sincholagua, and the Ilinizas. In addition, there are the famous glaciered covered volcanos, Antisana, Cotopaxi, and Cayambe. Of course many, many other sites as well. During this time of Covid19 access to public transportation is uncertain. However, under normal conditions, access to public transportation is very easy. The Ilaló Lodge is an 8 minute walk to the bus stop and there are taxi trucks available throughout the Village of La Merced. The bus service from La Merced to the capital city of Quito (La Marin - main terminal in Quito) takes about an hour and currently costs .40 cents. We are approximately 35 km (20 miles) from the airport which takes about 40 minutes to get to and currently costs $25 in taxi. (There is presently no convenient bus service to and from the airport.) We want your stay to be the best possible experience ever, so here’s some helpful tidbits for you to know and be prepared: *The mountain region of Ecuador has beautiful sunny days almost all year around. It is called the land of the eternal spring because of its beautiful spring-like temperatures ( (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) C). *There is a variety of weather here in Ecuador that can include heavy rains and high winds. *There are two fun and friendly dogs on the property. *There is WiFi. EATS:h Breakfast is included at Ilaló Lodge. (There are a few restaurants in the Village of La Merced and towns nearby for you to check out the local cuisine, as well.)
