Close proximity to the Beacon Ferry and a short drive to the Beacon train station. The space is a cozy 2nd floor apartment with views of the Hudson River and surrounding mountains. This 19th century Rowhouse boasts many original details such as original restored wide plank floors, yet updated with modern charm. The street is quiet with Hudson River and Mountain Views and is just a short drive away from many tourists attractions such as Beacon, DIA Beacon, area hiking trails, kayaking, West Point (22 minutes), Storm King Art Center, Woodbury Common Outlets, and more. 35 minutes from the new LEGOLAND opening in 2021, centrally located to 21 area wineries on the Shawangunk Wine Trail, local breweries include Newburgh Brewery, Hudson Valley Brewery, Sloop, Industrial Arts. Newburgh is a beautiful, historic city that is in the midst of a Renaissance. Please read more about the area in the neighborhood section below. The upstairs apartment is available to the guests in addition to the front porch if you would like to enjoy the views. We will most likely not be in the property during your stay, but will be close by if you need anything! Newburgh, recently featured in The New York Times, is experiencing a Renaissance after many years of economic decline. The architectural details are gorgeous and the area is filled with history, as seen by George Washington’s Headquarters just down the street! There are new hip shops and restaurants in the immediate area with more coming in the next couple of years. While driving around town, it is noticeable that there are store fronts, buildings and homes undergoing renovation on nearly every block. Our renovated home is situated on a quiet street with families living in the surrounding homes. They are very nice and keep to themselves. There is a large mix of homes in the area that are renovated, homes undergoing renovations and houses that are still in quite rough condition that you will notice driving into town. Homes that are in rough condition could be alarming to some. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out! We will not accept cancellations upon arrival. Many of the shops and restaurants are a short drive or daytime walking distance from the home. Short drive from the Beacon train station. We do recommend taking a car, taxi or Uber after dark. Please be respectful to other guests if they are staying in the first floor apartment. The entrance is shared with the downstairs apartment, but apartments are separate. Please honor quiet hours after 9 pm and be quiet when coming into the home and leaving. Please no parties and keep music, talking, TV, etc to a respectful level.
