Our oceanfront guest house has its own 150 ft path to an oceanside firepit. It is close to all local attractions, with Peggy's Cove 4 kms away, Halifax 40 minutes away, and Lunenburg and the Annapolis Valley about an hour's distance. It is a very private location, and the only sounds you will hear are the waves, wind in the trees, and birds. There are hiking trails close by at Polly's Cove, Peggy's Cove, and sandy beaches within a 5-40 minute drive. The place is equipped for any length of stay. This is an 1800 sq ft modern three-storey guest house, named "Ross Roost", which was built by the owner, a master carpenter, in 2010. It has a 2nd floor deck to enjoy outdoor meals, and it has a large screen TV and board games, to enjoy the indoors on rainy days. The ocean view from the deck is stunning year-round. Most rentals in the area do not enjoy the level of privacy this property offers, or this level of intimate access to the ocean. People can kayak or scuba dive safely from a small sandy beach on a neighbouring road: Paddy's Head Rd. There is a fine restaurant within a 5-minute walk, and a lobster pound a 5-minute drive away to get lobster and mussels year-round. As well, you can visit the local antique shop on the way to Peggy's Cove, where you will find all sorts of curiosities. IMPORTANT - SAVE 15% HST TAX ON ALL RESERVATIONS MADE PRIOR TO JULY 1, 2022. EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2022, AN ADDITIONAL 15% HST TAX WILL BE CHARGED ON ALL RESERVATIONS FOR DATES AFTER JULY 1, 2022. The three-storey guest house is entirely for the guests with one bedroom downstairs on the 1st floor, and a bedroom in the 3rd floor loft overlooking the main living area. It includes private laundry facilities, spa bathtub, walk-in shower, king-sized log bed, and it is ready for stays from March-November. Aside from the summer months, September and October are two of the best months to visit Nova Scotia, as the weather is good, the ocean water has been warmed, and the trees are turning a multitude of fall colours. Though we live on the property, the guest house is private and separate. We have lots of knowledge about the local area, and all of its amenities. We are happy to provide information that is pertinent to the time and season of each booking. Our neighbourhood is rural, but just a short distance from the Stanfield International Airport, and the capital of Nova Scotia, Halifax. The community boasts beautiful scenery, many walking/hiking trails, good restaurants, shopping, a lobster pound for fresh lobster and mussels, and a well stocked convenience store - the Whales Back, which has its own NSLC outlet. It is 19 km down Peggy's Cove Rd from Upper Tantallon, where guests can buy all of the supplies they will need for a long or short stay. The owners are on site, and can be of assistance as required.
