It is behind the cliffs above Bottom Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The home is typically "Bajan" and was the family home until 2016. Tucked away atop the cliffs of world renowned Bottom Bay Beach in St. Philip, Barbados, Alma's Nook is the perfect holiday home. Relax in the front garden under coconut trees and surrounded by brilliant tropical flora. Listen to birds sing or whistling frogs tell stories as you read, or nap, or chat or do nothing. If you prefer the indoors, enjoy the comfortable chairs on the bright and spacious porch where you are bathed in tropical breezes directly off of the cliffs. The living room, dining room and breakfast nook invite you to sit and rest or eat as you look out onto the cliffs and the ocean beyond. The three bedrooms are colorful and uncluttered. A full kitchen can feed everyone or, if you prefer to grill out, a grill is located in the secluded back garden. If you are lucky you can watch Barbadian green monkeys play there and chatter away. The landscaped yards and parking will be shared with one of the property's owners who lives in an attached apartment. We have many years of experience in hospitality and will be available to help our guests enjoy their stay. We will meet visitors arriving by plane or ship to greet them and to help with arranging local transportation. The house is in the rural east coast area of Barbados. The neighborhood is growing with new houses while keeping the charm of the quiet countryside. Bringing a car is recommended, as the house is not within close walking distance of shopping or restaurant areas. Barbados' convenient bus service is a fifteen minute walk away. Barbados is a tropical island and enjoys its spot in the Caribbean sea. The house is built to catch the sea breezes and to furnish shady, open access throughout the house. Although the house is not air conditioned, it does have ceiling fans throughout. Bringing a car is highly recommended, as the house is not within close walking distance to shopping or restaurant areas. Barbados' convenient bus service is a fifteen minute walk away. Beach towels are kept in the house in case a guest wants to go to the beach - and who wouldn't?!
