Located in beautiful St.Margaret’s Bay NS, the cottage overlooks the ocean and is located on the Trans Canada trail. Artist's Haven is an ideal setting to relax in a friendly atmosphere. There is a large backyard with organic vegetables & herbs available in season. Cottage is centrally located in beautiful St.Margaret's Bay Nova Scotia. This very eclectic, traditionally "Nova Scotia" property overlooks the ocean, and is located on the Trans Canada trail. Just 7 minutes from the beach, this is the ideal setting to relax and enjoy your leisure time in a friendly atmosphere. Main House has 4 bedrooms ( A Master Bedroom with adjoining single room and two non adjoining rooms for a total of 2 queen size beds, 1 oversized double bed, 1 single bed and a sofa bed), a large deck off the master bedroom, wireless internet, a full kitchen, shared laundry facilities, 1 bathroom and parking for up to two vehicles . There is a large backyard with organic vegetables & herbs available in season. Some Local attractions: Located directly on the Trans Canada Trail 5 minute drive/10 minute by bike to Metro Transit Stop 15 minutes from Hubbards 15 minutes from Bayer's Lake 20 minutes outside of Halifax 20 minutes from Peggy's Cove10 minutes from Beaches 10 minutes from Marina The property has two buildings; the Main Cottage and the Studio that is primarily used by the owner as an art studio. The patio, gardens, BBQ and grounds are shared when the owner is working in the garden and the upper deck is exclusively for the use of the guests staying in the Main Cottage. The garden has plenty of herbs and vegetables - guests are welcome to harvest the bounty when available. There is a campfire pit on the back patio and guests are able to use the fire pit when local bilaws and restrictions allow. Wood can be purchased or salvaged upon request. Daily house keeping is not typically provided however if your group would like someone to come clean daily it can be arranged for a fee. The kitchen is well equipped and there is normally some staples like salt, pepper, spices, oil etc. in the pantry. There is a grocery store about 5 minutes away by car , every Tuesday there is a Farm Market in Tantallon and every Saturday there is a Farmer’s Market in Hubbards. If you will be arriving late and would like to have us stock your fridge in advance, please let us know and we will make arrangements. Guests enjoy liberal access to the property and share outdoor spaces and share only with the owner when she is working in the studio. Miriam works on the property and often has her son Oscar with her to welcome guests. Both are pleased to help guests during their visit.
