Welcome to a house of SC history, built just as the Civil War was ending. Five generations have loved this home. It used to sit as part of a farm on the dirt road between Greenville and Travelers Rest. The owners, still part of the original family, are nearby and willing to help accommodate as much as possible! You are within walking distance of the Swamp Rabbit Trail and Furman University. Travelers Rest, with all its charm, is a couple minutes up the road! Your dwelling place is over 150 years old: there are some quirks in the place but many modern conveniences as well! There is room on the property for several cars to park! Self-check in by lock box. The code will be sent to you shortly before your stay. There are two nearby families who can give you help, should you need it! Please send me a text once you have arrived to assure me you are in and satisfied! Furman University is within walking distance. Their campus is one of the prettiest in the country and boasts beautiful gardens, an array of wildlife, and many hideaways for picnics or a scenic nature walk! Paris Mountain State Park is nearby and worth a visit. Hiking, mountain biking, paddle boating, and picnicking are just some of the activities they offer. Leopard Forest Coffee Shop is close and one of our favorites! Try our Travelers Rest roasted coffee (you will find some in the farmhouse for your stay) and relish the pleasure of a cup of local coffee. Downtown Greenville, voted by Forbes Magazine as one of America's best downtowns, is within a 10 minute drive. If you are interested in a short day trip, Asheville, NC is an hour away and Hendersonville, NC is about 40 minutes away. The Swamp Rabbit Trail is very close, linking you to Greenville by way of a bike ride, a run, or a leisurely walk! You will be able to enter the back door of the house with a lock code. We live in the neighborhood; you may see us feeding farm animals, mowing grass, etc., but we will not disturb your privacy! On your arrival date, expect a plate of homemade goodies, along with creamer, coffee, tea, some breakfast bars, and fruit. Please note that your price increases $23 per person, per night for every person over the total of four. As you can see, 2 or 3 beds used, as opposed to 6, is a big difference in work and linens. This policy works for us, as many small groups book our house and this way we can be fair to both sizes of groups. Thank you!
