We removed the last section of the stair system to the beach. Feel free to climb down. Your room is a private lockable retreat of 14,1 m² (152 ft²). You have access to your private bathroom with toilet and sink and find an additional shared full guest bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. A shared guest kitchen with fridge and induction cooker invites you to prepare your breakfast on your own. DON'T forget to order our FAMOUS GERMAN HOMEMADE BREAD in advance. A shared guest balcony (east view) and shared guest living room with oceanview completes the perfect experience. Our guests have a separate entrance door, hall and stairs. North Shore Retreat provides a lot of privacy. 11 Acre (4.5 hectares, 45,000 m²) wooden land and 300 feet (100 m) private beach invite to hikes. The neighbors live close enough to help (600 feet, 200 meters - 1,500 feet, 500 meters) and far enough away to ensure privacy. RENTAL CAR service providers are located at the Halifax airport and in Sydney. If you don't have a possibility to drive, we recommend a SHUTTLE BUS from and to the airport. (closed now) NORTH SHORE is the center of arts and crafts and culinary delights. 'GLASS ARTISANS' (closed in winter) 'WILD FIRE POTTERY' (closed in winter) 'TON'S PANCAKES' and fresh bred (even gluten free) (OPEN Fr, Sa, Su) 'The CLUCKING HEN' for Breakfast and fresh bred (closed in winter) 'SIMPLY PIZZA' for the best Pizzas ever (closed in winter) and many more are just 5 to 15 minutes away. The 'GENERAL STORE' is the closest place (10 km, 10 minutes) to have a small food market and a gas station. BADDECK is the closest village (35 km, 35 minutes) where you get everything to live e.g. Coop, bank, restaurants, coffee shops, service stations and the beautiful marina at the bras d'or lake. In the season Baddeck is a crowded spot with a lot of historical sights. INGONISH (north) is a vivid spot in the summer time with lots of restaurants, food stores and a beautiful coast line. SYDNEY is the biggest town in the north of Cape Breton. You find the big malls with food stores, the typical canadian style clothes stores and everything else. Sydney also provides the outdoor equipment stores, service stations and the harbour to New Foundland. You live in a wooden house off the grid. Nature is the source. The sun provides us with power, stored in a battery bank, and well water is available for you daily. We expect responsible and economical use. This is one out of three guest rooms on the second floor. You share the kitchen, living room and balcony as well as the full bath. The other two rooms are 'Blue Room' and 'Grandma's Bedroom'. 'Grandma's Bedroom' has an additional private half bath as well. On the third floor there is a private apartment 'Bald Eagle's Nest'. Please check these rooms out as well. We live on the first floor.
