Find us on social media (TreetopsSaugatuck) **SPRING BREAK - please note that Dune Buggy Cottage is winterized for the season. Spring rentals will include Big Red Cottage and The Lookout Cottage, which sleep a combined maximum of 10 people. Wow – what an INCREDIBLE fully-booked first year at Treetops in 2021! We love our guests and are excited to see some return guests and also some new faces in 2022! We’re always improving the property to ensure these vintage cottages retain their charm yet maintain all the conveniences and comforts of home. The feedback we’ve gotten thus far has been wonderful, and nothing makes me happier than when I see photos of families enjoying the cottages. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, and feel free to follow along on social media at treetopssaugatuck (and our other properties: lakeshorewoodslodge and aframesaugatuck!) In general, these 3 cottages are reserved together as one unit during high season. Individual cottage rentals are available during the colder months (September – April). Big Red Cottage: sleeps 6 in the summer, 4 in the winter, listing #2391984 The Lookout Cottage: sleeps 4, #listing 2392097 Dune Buggy Cottage: sleeps 2, #listing 2392114 You’re currently viewing the listing for the entire compound, which includes all 3 cottages and sleeps 12. Treetops is a vintage cottage compound and ultimate multi-family or large family retreat location. Treetops is a unique footprint, the only Saugatuck rental with three neighboring door-to-door cottages. The complex is the perfect mix of gathering space, close enough for family and friends to share in every activity yet retreat to individual living spaces. All cottages feature multiple screened porches and views of the harbor or wooded dunes. Cottages are located within feet of each other as they surround a shared fire pit, professionally maintained hot tub, and vast amounts of decking for outdoor grilling and seating for the whole family! Treetops guests are also granted additional access to a nearby property located on the harbor seawall. This area can be used for close-up harbor viewing and picnics! WHY THIS LOCATION? A unique property requires a spectacular location and activities. Treetops is no exception. This spot is home to a rare combination of the Saugatuck Harbor, Saugatuck Chain Ferry, private dock (upon request), downtown restaurants/shops, Mount Baldhead, hiking, and Oval Beach. As the primary means to access Lake Michigan, the harbor is full of boats, music, and other fun sights viewable from the cottage porches, firepit, or nearby private dock. Positioned directly across from downtown Saugatuck, the complex is perched on a 50 foot dune that overlooks the entire downtown area. A short walk leads to Saugatuck’s famous public Chain Ferry that shuttles between downtown Saugatuck and the cottages, no driving or parking needed. There is also a $1 bus that will take you downtown and back if the chain ferry isn’t running. Harbor views and downtown access are fantastic, but no vacation is complete without the beach. The complex is located across the dunes from Lake Michigan and the award-winning Oval Beach, the best and largest beach in the entire area! Open daily; the beach is accessible from the cabins via a short 2-minute drive (or 15 minute hike). When’s the last time your weekend plans involved art, shopping, sightseeing, delicious food, and a good glass of local wine? When you’re here, it’s easy to squeeze everything into just a few days! Or if the hustle-bustle isn’t your thing, cozy up in the cottages with fantastic views of the woods and harbor, just steps from Lake Michigan. There really is something for everyone! Enjoy all that Saugatuck has to offer, just 2.5 hours from Chicago. - COTTAGES: Big Red Cottage: Open concept living space with vintage cottage finishes, soaring ceiling, two separate bedrooms, and separate living space on the lower level (separate entrance). A large dual-shower bathroom on the upper level and a separate private bathroom on the lower level provides plenty of capacity. An expansive screened porch wraps the upper-level front of the cottage, situated directly on the dune bluff; the harbor views are fantastic. A separate private patio is accessible from the lower-level. Includes washer/dryer. - The Lookout Cottage: A smaller version of Big Red, this cottage is also open concept living with vintage cottage finishes and a lovely farm-style kitchen. A private bedroom is attached to the main living space, coupled with a large bathroom, providing plenty of capacity for 4+ guests. The fire pit has the best views in town, you have to see it to believe it! Includes washer/dryer. - Dune Buggy Cottage: The most unique of the cottages, Dune Buggy is the newest one and a special retreat at the top of the dune with a wrap-around porch, studio-style layout with a wood-burning stove, half-bath, and outdoor shower. Guests can open all the windows and enjoy complete outdoor-style (screened-in) sleeping, or keep it closed for a cozy night on the dune. No A/C in this one!
