Welcome to The Kirk! A 1926 original Old West Side apartment building located just blocks from beautiful Lake Sacajawea, situated on a wonderfully tree lined street. There is a courtyard and garden space, complete with a compost. We use toxic free cleaning agents. You will find the neighborhood to be quiet and charming! Inside you will see it is well equipped and even has a dōTERRA diffuser with your own set of essential oils to use during your stay! If you need anything, we live a block away! The apartment is heated by baseboards and remains quite cozy in the winter months. The mattress is a new (Oct.2019) Stearns and Foster, which came highly recommended for a quality guest mattress. The apartment has all new paint, refinished original wood floors, and a fully renovated bathroom! There is laundry in the basement that is coin operated and shared with our community here at The Kirk and The Catlin. You can walk to the lake, charming downtown, the hospital, college, civic circle, library....this is a superb location! If you want to hike in the mountains they are not far, or take a stroll on the beach you can do that too! Portland is 45 minutes south and Seattle is 2 hours north. You can visit Mt. Rainier, Mt. Saint Helens, Mt Adams..the Gorge. So many great spots within hours! You will have access to the laundry facilities in the basement and outdoor spaces. We live just one block away and are available if you need us! We love Lake Sacajawea! It is for sure the gem of Longview. We enjoy walking downtown to all the great shops, one of my favorites is Storyboard Delights, which is a whimsical chocolate shop based off of literary favorites! The Monticello Hotel offers pizza and fine dining, as well as unique events. The trees and historic homes in the Old West Side are just beautiful and it is a fantastic neighborhood to walk around and end up at the lake for a picnic! The location of The Kirk makes it a perfect base for walking to all the best places in Longview! There are also buses for getting around, Amtrak comes through Kelso if you decide to take the train to Seattle or Portland, interstate I-5 is just on the edge of town and can get you places fast, or cross over the bridge into Oregon and take highway 30 to Portland or Astoria! Lake Sacajawea has a fantastic walking/biking path all the way around the lake with great stopping points for viewing birds or enjoying a picnic.
