I am always happy to chat with our guests and can offer some suggestions as to activities here in Beacon, as well as restaurants. If you prefer to just come and go with no interaction, that is fine, too. Will always do my best to provide you a clean, comfortable experience. Lafayette Avenue is a quiet residential street off Route 9D. At the end of the street is a cut-de-sac well suited to dog walking or just taking a stroll with a view of the Hudson River. We are easily within walking distance of the train station, the Dia Museum and Main Street. However, if you prefer, Beacon operates a free bus service that serves all of the above locations. You can hop on and off at any point. It operates from 7:00am to 7:30 pm daily. There is also a bus service provided from the Beacon train station of Storm King Art Center. I have information and schedules in the room for those interested. If you are driving it is about 20 minutes over the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. You may also want to check out the walkway from Beacon to Newburgh over the Hudson River. The views are beautiful and it is about a 5.25 mile walk/run/bicycle loop. My husband and I are the only occupants of the house and have both been completely vaccinated from Covid-19. Due to the uptick in COVID cases, beginning September 1st, I will only accept reservations if the guest (s) is FULLY VACCINATED. And BOOSTED. Please have your vaccination available Thank you for your understanding. We are located approximately 1/2 mile from the Metro North train station and about 1/2 mile from Beacon's quaint and vibrant Main Street. Main Street is about 1 mile long and has many restaurants, art galleries and shops. There are ample outdoor activities including hiking, biking and kayaking. Please note due to considerations of the pandemic I will not be able to accept pets at this time. Thank you for understanding!
