The pool is restored and open to all guests! Named after the traditional homes of Taino Indian Chiefs, our apartment has one bedroom with a queen-size bed, plus a queen-size sofa-bed in the living room. It has a beautiful, large furnished balcony overlooking the Atlantic, and a well-equipped kitchen with appliances and an additional utility sink. Open concept living/dining space, and a breakfast counter with stools. One bathroom with a tub/shower. There is a brand new washer and dryer in the unit as well. Air-conditioning and ceiling fans in both the bedroom and the living room. Brand new TV in the master bedroom. NOTE: The island of Puerto Rico was overwhelmingly impacted by the effects of Category 5 Hurricane Maria in late September 2017. Puerto Ricans, relief groups from the Continental US, and volunteers from literally all over the world are hard at work in restoration efforts. While much progress has been made to date, there is still much more to do. Playa Azul II has direct beach access; you will be only steps away from a beautiful sand beach, perfect for swimming and enjoying a day at the beach. The swimming pool and children's pool for the complex are just in front of the building. There are outside showers, picnic tables, a tennis court (under post-hurricane restoration), a tennis/handball practice wall, basketball courts and a playground (under post-hurricane restoration) just outside your door. The lobby offers wifi, a reading/lending library (honor system), and a ping pong table. Secure (24 hour indoor and outdoor security) and enclosed condominium complex on landscaped grounds, surrounded by a stunning semi-private curving beach. There is ample free parking for guests and visitors. Located on the northeast coast of the island and a 45 minute drive east of the San Juan airport, Luquillo is famous for its pristine public, private, and semi-private beaches, and is also home to popular seafood kiosks, which offer a delicious variety of local dishes. Luquillo is a beach town, hosting many festivals, surfing competitions, and offers nearby golfing, lounges, and casinos. Puerto Rico's lush El Yunque National Rainforest, with its beautiful waterfalls and trails, is located a short 30 minutes away. The ferries to the islands of Vieques and Culebra are just a 15 minute drive away.
