Please use the remote control to adjust settings (indicators on the unit´s panel are no longer visible.) Note that it takes a few minutes for the cooling component to be activated once you turn on the unit. For maximum efficiency, close the bedroom door and curtains. If leaving the house for several hours, let your host/hostess know your return time and he/she will gladly turn on the unit ahead of your arrival, to enhance your comfort, if desired. To keep insects out, we suggest covering the exit hose whenever the unit is not in use (foil is provided.) BACKYARD: the grass is not leveled; be cautious when walking to avoid tripping and falling. COOKTOP: butane gas-powered. If you are unfamiliar, please have the host/hostess demonstrate how to use. In the unlikely event that you run out of gas during your stay, just let the host/hostess know and the canister will be replaced. ELECTRIC SHOWER HEATER: keeping the shower on for longer than 10 consecutive minutes commonly causes heating components to burn out. It is also important to ensure the faucet is FULLY open to allow sufficient water volume in the shower head; otherwise, the heating components will burn out. To change the temperature setting, TURN OFF the faucet completely and select the desired temperature. “Verão” will give you cool/room temperature water. “Morno” will give you lukewarm water. “Inverno” will give you hot water (although not as hot as gas heaters typically provide.) A BRL $100 fee will be applied in case of damaged equipment. GARAGE: tall vehicles only; uncovered. KITCHEN SINK: not equipped with electric disposal; therefore, food particles will clog the drain. We kindly ask guests to be mindful and ensure the drain protector is in place whenever using the sink. TAP WATER: not potable in Brazil. The kitchen faucet is equipped with a filter and a bottle of filtered water can be found in the refrigerator. SHEETS & TOWELS: If you´re staying with us for more than one week, you will find extra sheets and towels in the living room cupboard. Dirty linen will be collected on the seventh day; just work out a mutually convenient time with the host/hostess. WASHING MACHINE: works perfectly; however, the glass lid is loose – please be mindful when handling. Clothing may be hung on the line outside. A basket with clothes pins can be found on the living room window sill. On rainy days, your clothing can be hung in a covered area; just ask the host/hostess. **HOUSE RULES** 1. To assist us in maintaining a sanitized environment, we kindly ask guests to leave street shoes at the front door. Indoor flip flops are provided for your convenience. 2. For everyone's security, please lock the front gate (and garage gate, if using it) upon entering and exiting the property. At night or if going to sleep, also lock the entrance door to the tiny house. 3. Whenever rain is forecasted, please close the windows that face the backyard to avoid water damage to furniture, curtains and rugs. 4. Overburdening the electrical circuit by running all appliances at the same time may - and likely will - cause it to shut down or damage certain appliances. Therefore, kindly plan to use appliances in a staggered manner. 5. This is a STRICTLY non smoking property. 6. No pets. 7. Trash bags ready to be collected may be left by the entrance gate (not on the sidewalk.) Extra bags can be found under the kitchen sink. 8. Replacement or repair costs for any lost or damaged items will be passed onto guests. 9. Lost keys will result in a $8 charge per key, plus $8 transportation to/from the locksmith.
