Excellent fully equipped modern house located just metres from the beautiful Playa de la Viuda beach and minutes from the picturesque village of Punta del Diablo, part of Uruguay's golden coast. A cool glass of wine on the roof terrace taking in the majestic Atlantic Ocean, a well grilled steak from the open air parrilla after a hard day on the beach or taking in the beautiful scenery around this charming coastal fishing village are all on offer when you decide to stay with us. The house is modern and elegant spread over 3 levels with decks with ocean view on each level. There are 2 bedrooms en suite on the ground floor both with access to the beach facing deck, a spacious living area on the first floor, which provides the choice of eating indoors or al fresco on the deck, whilst taking in the morning sunrise over the ocean. The property is completed by a further bedroom and roof terrace on the second floor. The house sits in its own garden with full size uruguayan barbeque and seating area. Fully equipped, wifi, satellite TV/DVD, washing machine and fully air conditioned; we even provide the wood for the fire and the barbecue. For cooler autumn evenings sit in front of the open hearth whilst enjoying a glass of Tannat. The village of Punta del Diablo has all amenities and is located within 3 hours of Montevideo Airport, 50 km (30 mi) from the Brazilian border. Other areas of interest close to Punta del Diablo are: Cabo Polonio is about 40 minutes south. It is a fun, wild trip in old ww2 4x4 trucks through the sand dunes and along the beach – there is no road or other vehicle access. There are a few restaurants, but the village is famous for its sea lion colony and the expansive views from the top of the lighthouse - in season you may even see migrating Southern Right whales. Alternatively if you are interested in colonial history why not visit Fortaleza Santa Teresa, a national historic museum which is halfway between Punta del Diablo and Chuy; built by the Portuguese before the Spanish took it over and still in a great state of repair. Or if you fancy a boat trip and walk through woods there is Monte de Ombues is on the way to Cabo Polonio, you can take a boat to visit the forest, the most extensive Ombues forest in the Plata region. The coastline provides long golden beaches, warm summer swimming and good surf opportunities. Restaurants serve locally caught fish and the other staples of the famed Uruguayan cuisine: Steak, Chivitos and Milanesas and fresh pasta. so there is always something delicions to eat when the appetite strikes. Try Panes & Peces in the summer season for live music, La 70 for great home made pasta and a decent house wine, Il Tano if you fancy something out of season.
