Return to the roaring 20's when you enter this charming 1927 English Cottage in the Downtown Historic District of Roseburg, Oregon. Enjoy views of the city while relaxing in this cozy cottage furnished with mostly vintage furniture, décor & books. Even 1920's sheet music with Ukelele arrangements as well as a ukulele are provided for your enjoyment! Nestled in a quiet neighborhood of historic homes, you are within walking distance of some of Roseburg's finest restaurants, pubs & shops. This cozy little cottage has the ambiance and charm of a historic home with all the conveniences of a modern one. The living room has a queen sofa sleeper, smart tv, DVD player & Wi-Fi. It also has a bookcase full of books from the 1920's and 30's. They are available for purchase but please handle carefully. The kitchen has a full size electric range, refrigerator and a microwave. It also has the cutest tiny dishwasher you've ever seen! There are plenty of dishes, pots & pans, glasses, silverware & utensils as well as a USB charging station for your convenience. Complimentary coffee, tea & hot chocolate are provided as well as seasonal fruit. There are two bedrooms, one off the living room with a queen bed & one off the dining room with a full size bed. They are joined by a "Jack and Jill bathroom"...a bathroom shared between two bedrooms, with doors entering from each room. This means that anyone sleeping in the living room on the sofa bed can only enter the bathroom by walking through one of the bedrooms. I am a lover, collector and dealer of antiques and so, as much as possible, the house has been decorated with vintage items from my inventory. The items that are available for purchase have a price tag. Guests have access to everything on the main floor and the laundry room in the basement (watch your head going down the stairs). The upstairs is off limits until we have time to finish it. We strive to respond to messages in a timely manner. We live 8 blocks away and can usually be available at a moments notice if needed. Otherwise, you have the house to yourself. This home is located in a neighborhood of historic homes that can be seen on a short walk in any direction as well as more views of the city. Close to downtown Roseburg, you will also be within walking distance of some of Roseburg's finest restaurants & pubs as well as shops, churches, the Roseburg Library & the Douglas County Courthouse. Numerous brochures for local attractions can be found in the armoire just inside the front door. We are happy to provide recommendations for restaurants, wineries, etc. on request. We have limited public transportation but attractions that can be reached by car include: Wildlife Safari (10) miles; Award-winning Douglas County Museum of Cultural & Natural History (2.4) miles; Numerous parks on the North & South Umpqua rivers; the Oregon coast (75-95 miles) depending on route taken; Umpqua National Forest; Crater Lake (98 miles); Diamond Lake (80 miles). There are countless opportunities to experience the great outdoors including waterfall hikes, road & mountain biking, swimming, rafting/kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, & hunting as well as summer outdoor concerts. We are located in the heart of the Umpqua Valley Wine Country with more than 25 Wineries welcoming visitors. For more information, please visit umpqu (Website hidden by Airbnb)
