Connecticut River Odyssey

Take a break from your own four walls, and relax in nature. Nearby trails for walking, cycling, and snowshoeing. 35 minutes to Okemo. Water views from all rooms inside. Easy access to I-91. Private entry under a covered patio space which includes a grill and outdoor seating. Want extra room? add the hot tent and it’s river deck (see my other listenings). Radiant floor heat set at 68 so bring shorts or a sweater accordingly While this space is perfect for anyone who wants a get-away--a place to relax, meditate, write, listen to birds or the chance to see a bald eagle--the unique attraction and outstanding quality here is the river. Regardless of the season, it’s mesmerizing as it shifts and morphs and flows back to the long island sound. Inside is a studio-style main room. The kitchen area has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot plates, pots/pans/dishes, and convection oven. Pantry and fridge are stocked with all the basics and much more. Continental breakfast items provided, or order off the vegan house menu! A multi-purpose table with two chairs allows you to eat inside and watch the river, or use it as a work space/desk. The smart HDTV is a 43" flat screen surround sound, Blu-ray DVD player (Please bring your own cable/satellite, sling or streaming subscription information to access your favorite channels). DVDs, games, books, and puzzles available. Day bed is great for naps or an extra guest. Air mattress, either queen or twin, can be set up for a third bed. The bedroom has a view of the river, too, a queen-sized bed, ample closet/hanging space. Birds are grand amusement in the morning. It is possible to camp here as well, so two can sleep inside, and two outside. Possibilities abound. The bathroom includes a tiled rain shower, multi-purpose sink (it's your kitchen sink and bathroom sink), and linens/soaps you may need. Radiant floor heating through-out the apartment. Modern ventilation system throughout home keeps air clean and fresh. The apartment is on the lower level of the house, and has it's own keyed entry door facing the river. The greater yard is common space for myself and/or other guests. Feel free to come and go as you please. Most likely, I will be around here and there and available for questions, concerns, assistance. Your autonomy and privacy is important and I want you to feel like the place/space is yours! Check-in time is flexible as long as you don't mind letting yourself in. We can make arrangements that work best for you. On occasion, I may not be on site during check-in or the duration of your stay, and will provide instruction ahead of time. I'm always available via text or call for any questions or concerns you might have. The Odyssey is on state-maintained route 5, Connecticut River Road, which is home to several small organic vegetable farms and farm stands, a few dairy cows, maple syrup producers, a Christmas tree farm. This 10-mile stretch of road connects the towns of Windsor, Weathersfield, and Springfield. Within 10 minutes is a small grocery store (Ralph's in Charlestown), several local restaurants, bike trails, hiking opportunities at Mount Ascutney. Okemo, Dartmouth/Hanover/Norwich are 35 minutes away. Amtrak station in Windsor, VT about 7 miles away. Airport in Lebanon, NH, with car rental available. It would take some coordination around schedules, but reach out if you are interested in coming via public transportation versus car. I may be able to be your Uber driver. Companion animals are considered additional guests. When you book the space, please include them in your count. For instance, if there are two people and a dog, you are three guests total.
