Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, Rainbow Hill Villa - Cottage is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on 19,358 square feet of private, fully gated, flat and beautifully landscaped grounds with coconut trees, bananas, papayas and other lush vegetation. There is excellent cellular phone service from the property and WIFi. Only a 12-15-minute drive to the capital city Roseau and business center, town activities and a host of unspoiled natural attractions, Rainbow Hill Villa - Cottage is the perfect place to stay in Dominica. Directions to the Cottage are provided. Also, one of our Rental Coordinators would be pleased to meet you in a common area to show you the way, or provide pick up service from arriving airport, ferry or boat dock. OFFICIAL COVID 19 CERTIFIED ACCOMMODATION Rainbow Hill Villa Properties is an approved property on the Dominica Government's official list of COVID 19 Certified Accommodation sites. A Certificate of Approval was issued on October 7, 2020, certifying that Rainbow Hill Villa, Cochrane, Commonwealth of Dominica, was inspected by the Environmental Health Department and has demonstrated compliance with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investments’ COVID-19 control measures, and the health and safety protocols for the Tourism and Hospitality industry of Dominica. The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. We have enhanced our housekeeping routines, where possible, to help reduce risks and exposure to COVID 19; i.e., cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces; for example: tables, floors, doorknobs, light switches, faucets, sinks and kitchen appliances and such; availability and use of appropriate cleaning and sanitizing products, for the intended purpose and per manufacturer instructions, etc. While we have expanded housekeeping protocols to help minimize risks and the spread of COVID 19, we cannot guarantee or promise that Rainbow Hill Villa guests and invitees will not become exposed to and/or infected by disease-causing organisms such as COVID-19. Guests are free to use all areas of the Villa, the yard and gardens, except for locked areas, closets, doors and cabinets. Each guest rental unit has its own patio area, veranda or garden space. The laundry room (behind garage) is a common area (shared). Only one guest at a time is allowed in the laundry room. During the Covid 19 Pandemic all guests are required to social distance (at least 6 feet) and wear face masks while in the vicinity of other guests. The Host & Staff do not live on site. Cochrane is a small traditional Dominican village located in the beautiful mountains of St. Paul Parish, about 5 miles north-east of Roseau, the capital city of Dominica. The area enjoys amazing sunrises and sunsets, cool and comforting year-round breezes, idyllic views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. There are two UNESCO world heritage sites nearby. The closest heritage site is Morne Trois Pitons National Park. There are several other world-famous natural attractions nearby, including the Emerald Pool and Middleham Falls. The Cochrane Village main road is on the route to the start of the northern trail to the Middleham Falls. Cochrane is also well known for its annual Rabbit Festival, usually held in the month of August. A rental car is strongly recommended. The road to the Villa is hilly. There are no shopping/eating places within walking distance. Pickup service is available; from airport, ferry or boat dock. Let us know in advance if pick up service is needed. Public transportation via minivans and taxis are available along the main road. However, a rented car and or a hired driver with vehicle would probably be more convenient and reliable, especially for exploring the island or night time travel. It can get a little chilly some evenings. A sweater or shawl might come in handy for cool nights on the verandah or in the gardens.
