Classic log cabin on the Crystal River located on the main boulevard of historic Redstone, CO. Year round access is the ideal base camp for your Rocky Mountain adventures. Perfect place for cyclists and mountain lovers to share with two families or a small group of friends. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by legal guardians. Watch the stars at night from the hot tub or down by the river. We hope that people from all over the world will enjoy our cabin in Colorado. The log cabin is warm, inviting and bright during the day. There are two private bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main floor. The loft, a favorite of kids/teens, has three separate sleeping areas and sleeps 6. A fully equipped modern kitchen is perfect for cooking. The cabin stays cool in the summer and in the winter, the baseboard heaters and fireplace will keep the cabin very warm. Bathrooms are brand new and have heated floors. Guests have the entire vacation house to themselves. They can use the hot tub, sit on the river bank and fish, barbecue on either a charcoal or gas range. Please stay within my property line when out by the river - neighbors have complained in the past. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and baking including a rice cooker, crock pot, blender. Laundry room can be used. There are two DVD players and one Roku TV set with Netflix included. Free wireless internet is available. Warning: internet can be spotty at times - especially if trying to watch TV with many devices using internet. Cabin has boards games, cards & poker chips, some toys. Two cruiser bikes can be used for riding the boulevard. A set amount of firewood is included with each night (5 logs per night). Additional wood can be purchased for $1.00/ log. I live in Tokyo, Japan and visit the USA mainly in the summer. My co-host, Aaron, lives in Denver. So there will be no interaction other than through the AirBnB site or by phone. There is a housekeeper Dez, who can be contacted in case of problems who lives 10 mins. away. Aaron and I are quick to respond to messages and can help you troubleshoot most problems. Don’t hesitate to contact us at any time. Redstone is a quiet historic village, 15 minutes south of Carbondale and an hour's drive from Aspen airport. The boulevard has a charming general store, a park, a church, one pizza restaurant/bar, a few shops and an art gallery. There are several motels and the Redstone Inn with a restaurant/bar. Many of the homes near my cabin are lived in year- around. This means crazy loud parties are not welcome. The boulevard is good for biking with kids as it is flat and there are few cars. There is a campground at the N. entrance to Redstone with a rocky river beach area nearby. A variety of hiking trails are within 10 mins. of the cabin. For serious cyclists, Hwy 133 over McClure Pass via Erickson Hot Springs to Crested Butte was part of the 2015 USA Cyclist Pro Challenge course. You will need a car to get to Redstone. From Carbondale (15 mins. away) you can park your car and use the bus system to go to Basalt, Aspen or Snowmass. Buses can carry a limited number of bikes. Redstone gives you access to all the cultural activities Aspen has to offer, while providing you with a retreat away from it all. Smoking is permitted outside only. We follow the Japanese custom of removing our shoes before coming inside. In Spring and summer, Hummingbirds will flock to any feeder that you fill. Two cruiser bikes are on back porch to use on the boulevard. If you have TV channel subscriptions, you can use your codes on our Roku TV to gain access. Please note that the internet can be spotty at times for streaming TV shows. If you love watching TV and are looking forward to getting caught up on your shows, the cabin may not be the right place for you. A hotel with satellite connection is a better bet. The landline phone is free for all calls made in the Roaring Fork Valley. There is a phone card you can use to make quick long-distance calls. I pay my housekeeper a living wage. Your cleaning fee covers 4 hours of work. For groups over 6, I charge a one time $10/person to cover the extra laundry time. Please stay within my property line when out along the river bank.
