Cabin is tucked away on a beautiful 45-acres nature preserve and is right next to the town of Matlock where there are lots of amenities including spectacular beaches on the southwest shore of Lake Winnipeg. There's plenty of room to park your vehicles, snow machines, boats and other toys right next to the cabin. Lake access by vehicle, snowmobile or boat is just a minute away. Use our deep fryer and barbecue with supplied propane on the giant wrap-around deck. Nature preserve with ponds, forests, meadows, land art, labyrinth and more, offers awesome outdoor experience. The cabin has all the amenities you will need in the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. There is a very comfortable double bed in the main bedroom, a large fold out bed in the living room, and a bunk bed in the spare bedroom that has two small comfortable mattresses that are suitable for people who are under 6 feet tall. Great place to explore by yourself or with family and friends. Easy access to the lake all year round. There's lots of room on the property to park trucks, trailers, RV's, etc. And in winter guests can quickly access the lake just 100 yards away by truck, four wheeler, snow machine, etc. There's also very nice cross country ski trails a minute from the cabin that traverse the village of Dunnotar, through the towns of Matlock, Whytewold and Ponemah. We really like to give our guests their privacy and therefore we don't come uninvited to the cabin. With just a few hundred year-round residents, it is a peaceful getaway throughout the year. During the summer, the Matlock Pond Cabin is tucked away from the busier seasonal cottages, providing privacy and peace. Yet, attractions and amenities are easily accessed; 2-minute walk to the main beach, restaurant, corner store and sports courts. For further services including groceries, wide variety of restaurants, shopping, and much more; the larger town of Gimli is a 20 minute drive north. As well as the small town of Winnipeg Beach which also has many tourist attractions and services, just 10 minutes north of Matlock (on route to Gimli). No public transportation in surrounding areas but it is not needed to get around the small town of Matlock. Plenty of parking right next to the cabin for your vehicles, trailers, boats, ice shacks, snow machines, toys, etc. The cabin sits on a nature preserve teeming with birds, animals, insects, frogs, grasses, sedges, flowers, forests, ponds, etc. This location is famous for its birding and wildlife viewing. There's also plenty of room to park your vehicles, trailers, boats, snow machines, etc., right next to the cabin. Lake access by vehicle or snowmobile is just minutes away. Bring your own cooking oil to use our deep fryer with supplied propane tank on the giant wrap around deck. High speed internet and flat screen TV with HDMI cable is provided so you can plug in your device (laptop, tablet, X-Box) and stream Netflix, internet, games, etc.
