Casa Del Bambu

Casa del Bambu is a beautiful spacious cement house finished in Dec 2019. The spacious bedroom offers a recently added King bed and wardrobe. In the living room, there is a comfy full-sized sofa bed for additional guests and a TV to watch Netflix. The spacious bathroom offers a bathtub /shower and beautiful stonework. There is hot water in all tabs. The fully equipped kitchen is a semi-outdoor space, all screened in with mosquito netting. Nice outside patio with patio furniture and hammocks. The entire house is surrounded by maintained garden and fruit trees such as bananas, coconut (pipa), plantain, lemons, avocado, starfruit, and more. Parking is right outside your home on the driveway. The property is around 1500 square meters in total. You can access the property through a metal gate (Casa del Bambu metal sign is on the gate). On the same property, there is our other Airbnb rental (Casita Del Bambu). You will share the same entrance metal gate with our other Airbnb, but your house is entirely separate and private. Right next to the Casa del Bambu property lives our Airbnb co-manager Josh. Casa del Bambu has it's own private entrance and your own private terrace, patio, and parking. I myself live in the area but not on the property, I live around 15 minutes drive from Casa del Bambu. I myself have lived 10+ years in Costa Rica, and 9 on the Osa Peninsula. One of my closest friends for years is Josh who lives right next to Casa Del Bambu and is my co-host. He has lived 15+ years on the Osa. We all offer a wealth of knowledge regarding the Osa Peninsula and activities. If I cannot check you in personally (as I am at work during the day - I work at a local resort hotel) Josh usually will do the check-in with you. He lives right next door in a small cabin, so he's available for any questions or concerns almost at any time. Josh offers private guided rainforest hikes and waterfall tours (optional 4x4 transportation for this tour is available at an additional cost if you don't have your own vehicle). Josh also offers whale and dolphin tours by boat on the Golfo Dulce. You're welcome to set up tours with us before you arrive :) ! We love meeting people from all over the world, and are happy to host you! We can help to set up any tour on the Osa Peninsula, including hikes to the world-famous Corcovado National Park, dolphin and whale tours, fishing charters, and more! Casa del Bambu is located in a quiet rural neighborhood. In the front on the same property is my other rental unit "Casita del Bambu". You both share the same gate and entrance/driveway, but the Casita is an entirely separate home and has its own parking and patio. The street out front of the rental home is a dead-end road with a few more houses and families. Right around the corner, around 5 minutes walk, there is a primary and secondary forest with all 4 monkey species, sloth, coati, agouti, Tyra, pumas, ocelot, and more! The "Bambu hill" forest is connected to the world-famous Corcovado National Park, so all animals that are found there can also be found here. If you're into birding, there is ample opportunity to bird-watch. We have toucans, scarlet macaws, parrots, and hummingbirds right on our property, as well as Trogons, Red-capped Manakins, Torquoise Mot Mot right around the corner in the forest. Often you can hear the howler monkeys from the distance on your front porch in the early mornings (howling over at the forest around 5 minutes walk away). Most comfortably you’d travel around Costa Rica and the Osa with your own rental car, but you can also entirely get around without it. We can help you set up an airport pick up ($5 taxi ride) and we offer two free banana cruiser bicycles for free. It’s easy to get around walking too or get taxis (we can help you order them). From our house you can easily get to the nearest primary forest (500 meters / 5 minutes walk), and in around 4 min drive / 10 minutes by bike/ 20 minutes walk you’re in the center of Puerto Jimenez and / or at the beach. A Pulperia and supermarket (kiosk) is around 1 km from the house, and a larger supermarket around 2 km from Casa del Bambu. Restaurants, cafes and bars are all 3km from the rental house, around 4 min by car/ 10 min bike/ 20 min walk in Puerto Jimenez center.
