Short term visits (for long term visits keep reading): Enjoy the beauty of our home in North Hadley. Quiet first-floor bedroom, 2 twin beds, private bathroom down the hall, sun room, living room, full use of kitchen, screened-in barn (warm weather). Abundant beauty on the CT River. (PS: friendly cat on the premise can be kept out of your way, if you prefer.) For long stays visits (two weeks to a year!) single guests only; all amenities same except the bathroom is semi-private. The guest room is downstairs. Short term stay - two singe beds, dresser, bookshelf, table, chair. For long-term stay, single twin bed; furniture can be rearranged as needed. Overall: first floor a shared sun room, living room (fireplace), full bathroom is private for short term stay and semi private for longer term; use of kitchen and eat-in kitchen. I will be here to greet you or leave you a instructions how to get in. As said elsewhere, we will be here to greet you, or soon thereafter, then available during your stay. We are happy to show you around, or leave you up to your own devices! Our street ends in farm land, so it's quiet. The tractors are the loudest thing, and not frequent. Our neighborhood is walking distance to Mt. Warner, and Lake Warner, which has a public ramp for kayaks, canoes, etc. We also live off a main road, Route 47, which is very popular with cyclists. The North Hadley Sugar Shack is within walking distance and year-round sells local produce and goods, meat, beer, wine, etc. To the north by about 7 miles is Mt. Surgarloaf, a 'more bang for your buck hike' in South Deerfield. A great bike ride. About 12 miles north is Montague and its quaint village -- e.g., The Bookmill ("Books you dont need in a place you can't find"), The Alva Stone restaurant, Turn it Up Records, and an art gallery or two -- all of this set on a rapid river. The Blue Heron is another gorgeous restaurant, in Sunderland, also north on 47 by about 7 miles. Plenty of less fancy joints too (The Harp in North Amherst is a fave, and of course... all of Northampton and Amherst!) The town of Amherst is less than 15 minutes away. Northampton, likewise, in the other direction. No public transportation nearby. You will need a bike or car or your healthy feet! The house is comfortably furnished. Beds, tables, chairs; linens dressers provided; cooking utensils, plates, etc. Fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, french coffee press, melita filter and filters. and more! We do have a cat -- extremely friendly -- who can be kept in our living area (via french doors shut that lead to our upstairs living area), or you can enjoy his company while here.
