The cabin is part of our mini farm on a mountain river. We enjoy sharing our "little piece of heaven" with others who want to be with nature in a peaceful setting. We are fully attentive to COVID-19 guidelines to keep us all safe. Features: $95 price per night for 1-2 people; plus $15 per person for 3-5 guests Children < 2 are free Solar AC/gas heat Large covered deck Microwave/fridge/toaster oven Coffee Maker Free coffee/ tea grill Wifi Smart TV This cabin is one of two located on our nine acre river front and mountain view property. We retired from beekeeping but still have chickens, blueberries, and our organic garden (near the cabin). We are less than a mile from the Appalachian Trail and have 1200 feet of Nolichucky river frontage, including a class 3 rapid. Rafting, kayaking, fishing, and hiking are all available on or near the property. However due to insurance restrictions, we can not provide water craft. The cabin is about 100 yards from the river. We know that we are truly fortunate to live in this wonderful spot, and we love to share it with others. We strive to provide a simple but clean and comfortable, relaxing getaway. We are following all COVID-19 guidelines: disinfecting all surfaces and maintaining social distancing with guests when interacting. We are committed to safety and to environmental responsibility. You will find humanely raised chickens, organic produce and water conservation here. Plus we just installed solar power! Guests are welcome to access the river and enjoy any part of our property with the exception of our personal residence. We have hammocks, chairs, picnic tables, fire rings and wood at the cabin. We also provide charcoal grills. We live on the property but the cabin is separate and private from our residence. We enjoy meeting guests but interaction is determined by them. We try to be available for information or assistance We can provide information on a variety of outdoors activities in the area as well as in Asheville, NC (45 minutes) and surrounding region of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. Beautiful sections of the AT are close by along with other hiking trails with mountain vistas and or waterfalls. We are 25 minutes from Jonesborough, TN, home of the international Storytelling Festival and about 45 minutes from Bristol Motor Speedway. We live in Unicoi County which in Cherokee means "Valley Beautiful". Our property certainly fits the Cherokee description. The property is about 9 acres alongside other large tracts of land with limited development. We are in a valley surrounded by mountains of the Cherokee National Forest and the Nolichucky River. We are outside the town limits. We have parking on the property. Guests would need personal transportation. We can provide or get you connected to shuttle service to hiking trailheads. Though we love animals, but we cannot allow animals in the cabin due to proximity to our chickens, possible allergies of other guests, and health department regulations. We do not allow smoking in the cabin or on the deck.
