Extras can sleep on the couch or queen or twin inflatibles provided. Swim, kayak, fish on crystal water. Fall foliage colors, spectacular. Belfast is 9 miles with many great restaurants to enjoy a lobster. Hot tub. Canoe. Kayak. Lifejackets. Back yard deck with patio furniture. Weber grill. Coleman Fire pit. Snow shoes. Sled. The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a single family home. I am living in the space on the bottom floors. The hot tub is available year round. It is cleaned every Sat. You will be the only guests using it. If you enjoy fishing bring your poles. I can lend mine, but a lot of times kids will mess them up and I am not an accomplished pole fixer so you may have to do some fixing. Make sure to read my welcome pack info as it helps when you need to use the hot tub, fire pit etc. You may see me mowing the lawn, gardening etc. but the back yard is for the most part all yours. There are loungers, hammock, dining table, containers with games, life jackets, kayak plugs etc. You can borrow beach chairs but you will need to sign them out. If something breaks or is damaged, please be courteous and let me know right away, as I may need to hire someone to fix and people for hire are extremely busy during the summer, but then again year round too. I hope this covers a lot of your questions, you can always message me. My home is on a semi private lake/pond on a private road. It is west of downtown Searsport. It is in a woodsy area with an old stagecoach road that goes around part of the lake that is used for hiking and public access to the lake. You will need a car. Mid coast Maine has a taxi service, but no Uber, or food deliveries like Doordash available. This is rural country. GPS doesn't work as Curtis is a private road: Use 31 Cains Pond Rd if you have gps but do not bother the home owner there. Look for the mailbox with the kittens on it Then turn left there at the end of the pavement. You will see a yellow 3 fire road sign on the right. I am the first house on the right. My drive is circular so come down and park at the rope with the streamers. Directions: (not sure which way you are coming from - so let me know if you're driving or flying) From Portland: Take I95 north to Augusta. When you get to Augusta exit Rt 3 to Belfast. When you get to Belfast, you will pass a small shopping Mall with a Bangor savings bank to the left and Dutch Chevrolet to the right. Ahead will be an overpass to Rt 1. Veer to the left as you will want to turn left onto Rt1 right after the overpass. Stay to the left as the left lane turns into Rt 1. You will go over a Bridge over the Belfast Bay at the ocean. Keep going past a small car sales lot to the left and a flower shop ahead on the right. Keep going on Rt 1 to Searsport. You will pass Moose State Park on the right to downtown Searsport. You will see a Toziers Market on the left, go left. This street merges into Mt Ephraim Rd. Keep going away from the ocean. When you see Searsport Pines golf course, get ready to turn left on Bowen Rd right after the golf course. Go about 1 mile to Cains Pond Rd and turn left. At the end of Cains Pond Rd, turn left. This is a private road called Curtis. I am the first house on the right. There is a big 3 sign, and I have a circular driveway. So just come down and park where it is convenient. If there is snow, park in front of the garage, as the plow guy needs to circle around and will come back to clear after the snow ends. Your door will have a wreath and welcome envelope with house rules/details. I work Monday to Friday at home from 1 pm to 10 pm. Check in time varies but is "usually" 1 pm, but check in with me first to notify me when you plan to be here. That way I can be expecting you. I will show you around if available. If you arrive and the door is locked, there is a hidden key under the back deck at the corner where the hot tub is. A welcome guide will be just inside the door with the keys sometime hung on the coat rack or on the end table at the top of the stairs. I include things to do that you might like, but with covid you will need to call many of the establishments. I am off on Sat and Sun, but volunteer at the humane society in Rockland on Sun so not usually around. I can have a local phone set up for you in the apartment if you have trouble with cell service, but you shouldn't have problems. My break is usually around 2 or 3 pm and I can catch up with you. My dinner break is around 5 or 6 pm if you need me. So let me know your arrival time, to arrange with my boss. When you arrive, come in and make yourself at home.
