The Casita is located 40 km north of Cordoba, in a Natural Preserve outside of Rio Ceballos. It is 25 minutes from the Cordoba Airport, and within walking distance to a lake and many trails. You’ll love the natural beauty and tranquility of the outdoors space as well as the charming and comfortable casita. It is perfect for relaxing on the patio, and for hiking and swimming in a natural setting. Experience life in Argentina as the locals live it, away from the typical tourist attractions. Despite it's traditional look, the casita has modern bathroom and kitchen facilities. It is a 10 minute drive, or a 25 minute walk from Rio Ceballos. On the way to or from town you pass the lake and the dam, Dique La Quebrada. In the summer months you can swim in the lake, surrounded by the Sierras Chicas of Cordoba. You can also hike to three waterfalls, and spend the day with a picnic lunch. Otherwise, your patio is perfect for resting and relaxing. Buses run frequently to the city of Cordoba, and you can also take several one-day trips to neighboring towns with various points of interest. For people interested in antique motorcycles: My husband Vladimir restores and collects antique motorcycles, specializing in Argentine bikes (see photos). He will give you a guided tour of the museum that he’s preparing on the ground floor of our house, right next to the casita. For people interested in modern architecture: Our house is a total contrast with the casita (see photos). The casita is a cozy and charming wood and brick structure with traditional trimmings. Our house, on the other hand, is a concrete building in the Brutalist-Minimalist style. Designed by Cordoba architect Miguel Angel Roca, it is a striking structure that has appeared in architectural magazines and books. We are happy to give you a tour of the house. You have access to the 7 hectares on our land that has various spots for sitting and enjoying the spectacular views. In the warmer months, you can enjoy a natural pool within 5 minutes walking inside our land. Our house is just up the hill from the casita. We will be available to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. Colanchanga is separated from the town of Rio Ceballos by a dirt road that goes through the natural preserve, La Quebrada. Many people have cows and horses that you can actually see walking along the road. You will experience Argentine life outside of big cities. This includes bathing in mountain streams, horseback riding, bird-watching, and a variety of nature walks. Our neighborhood bar/restaurant/kiosk makes a large variety of traditional and vegetarian empanadas that are out of this world, as well as the best ravioles and homemade dishes in town! Across the street is a famous trout farm and restaurant. In town, you can find many restaurants, and during summer and holidays, cultural and entertainment events. Public transportation is available to take you into town as well as into the city of Cordoba (a 50 minute ride). Parking is also available on the premises. We can have available the following services at an additional cost: transportation from the airport, or from town; a typical Argentine asado, for foreign tourists; guided hikes and visits to nearby attractions; horseback riding. As well, cooking lessons and English and Spanish lessons can be arranged.
