A nature lovers paradise, the 7-acre property enjoys the benefits of being in a valley where both sun and water are abundant. You might enjoy viewing goldfinches, wild turkeys, blue herons, hummingbirds, rabbits who are familiar to the backyard. The ample space is ideal for all sorts of outdoor activities. Take in a game of badminton, frisbee, croquet, or a game of catch. Access to bicycles, cornhole, snowshoes, etc., upon request. The recently updated kitchen is expansive for creating special meals with a group. There is seating at the wide stone island. Whatever your culinary inspiration is, the kitchen is extensively equipped for gourmet goals. You have access to a Kitchen-Aid mixer, 2 blenders, Keurig coffee machine, 2 ovens, microwave, pots, pans, baking accessories, etc. Let us know in advance if you plan to grill! Enjoy drinks in the living room next to the kitchen or outside on the patio while you keep your bottles chilled in the wine refrigerator. The deck has two tables, a number of chairs, and two lounges where you can enjoy beautiful views of the stream. The den has a pull-out couch with a comfortable queen bed. There is a Roku-enabled flat-screen television as well as a selection of DVDs. For a quieter night, choose from a selection of board games and books. The primary bedroom with a private bathroom offers views of the hills, stream, and starry nights. There is a queen bed and daybed trundle that expands into two twin beds. The second bedroom has a queen bed, desk, and dresser. The third bedroom has a dresser and a full-sized bed. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom in the hall. Luxury bath amenities from Beekman 1802 are provided. The first-floor fourth bedroom provides garden & stream views with a handicap-friendly bathroom. There is a jet-enabled tub in the bathroom between the first bedroom and laundry room. Formerly operating as a dairy farm through the 1950s, the property extended across the road where the original farmhouse remains today. In the 1970s the property became the country residence of husband & wife actors Ben Gazzara and Janice Rule. After the property changed hands a few times and it was purchased in 2000 as a family home of the current owners. High-speed wifi is available for all of your work (no!) and play needs. In the fall, pumpkin and apple picking are available at Dykeman Farm a few steps away. In the summer, pick up sweet corn and other fresh produce from their farmstand. On the other side of us, you will see the filming location for the movie "A Quiet Place". You might see our property featured on HGTV's "Everything But the House" as well as AOL Living's "Extreme Organizers". Guests have access to all rooms in the house. A couple of closets are reserved for the homeowner. I will be available by phone & e-mail. A handyman is local in case of emergency repair. The house is located on a paved country road in a semi-rural environment. The 2018 film "A Quiet Place" featuring Emily Blunt and Jim Krasinski was filmed on the property down the road. The home is within walking distance to a seasonal farm stand (apple and pumpking picking in the fall) and the Appalachian Trail. There is a separately rented cottage on the property that is occupied. There is one house across the street. The house is located 5 miles from the village of Pawling and the Pawling MetroNorth train station. Taxi and limited Uber service are available with advance notice. House has off-street parking for 6+ cars. There is driveway snow removal by 3rd party at times of heavy snow. Snow removal times are subject to the service provider schedule. Snow shovels are provided for snow removal.
