Chalet Central

This is a great central location for many of Maine's greatest attractions and places to visit as well as events to attend. We are only 21 miles from the University of Maine, Orono (UMO) and 7 miles from Interstate 95. It is music friendly with piano, guitar, and available speaker/amp. You are welcome to use staples in kitchen and bathroom which is equipped with a washing machine and dryer. It may be good for other furry friends. Large flat screen smart tv mounted on wall in living area plus lg flat screen mounted in bedroom, small flat screen in loft bedroom. Very easy climate control. House is fairly new with everything in good working, effective functioning. I'd like to add a special note that my cat has taken up residence with my grandchildren so their are no pets on location : ( unless you consider moose, dear, rabbits, and an occasional squirrel scrounging for another nut that may cross your path out back. Welcome potential guests! This is the place to be to enjoy the best of New England Winter Wonderland! Holden is approximately 10 miles out of Bangor where there is shopping, malls, food, Cinema, Etc. Our house is located 9 miles SE of Bangor where the waterfront concerts take place as well as the upcoming World Renowned Folk Festival. It is 20 miles to Ellsworth for great shopping and food and another 20 mi from there to Mt Desert Island, where you will find Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Cadillac Mountain Etc. . Our house is only 0.8 mile of a Dunkin Donuts, grocery store, Subway sandwich shop, and an Amato's Xpress. Winter activities may include snow shoeing on the beautiful 6 acres +, grilling on the deck (we do this all winter) followed by a relaxing rendezvous in the hot tub located on the outside deck. We are close to UMO where there is always seasonal activities going on such as ice skating and hockey, GO BLACK BEARS! Other seasonal activities may be hunting and snowmobiling or just driving the truly beautiful country side of snow covered mountains, lakes, and trees. I have no problem being in frequent contact on a daily basis with guests for questions and or assistance. Our House sits on 6 Acres of partially wooded land with a grass lawn during the spring/summer and shaded with many large sugar maple trees. It is approximately 100 ft off the road. During the winter snow it is a wonderful site to behold with glittering snow and stars in the evening. I have a second car during the spring/summer months and can pick you up from the airport should you be flying into Bangor and in need of a vehicle. There is plenty of cleared/plowed space for parking in front of house. Our home is kept well plowed and will continue if necessary during your stay. I really enjoy the pellet stove that stays mostly on and is much like having a 24/7 fire going in a fireplace. The structure is equipped with heated flooring and is well insulated for the coldest of temperatures, and of course a back up generator should power be lost in a blizzard.
