This is the largest most private lot in Maple Bay with the most sun and must be seen to believe. Two bedrooms in main house (full bath) with large and very private casita (new full bath) and TV (no cable) with Netflix and all the fixings of a very warm and happy home. House is rustic with a mix of updated and antique circa early 1900 pine furniture, very clean and perfectly suited for the spacious two acre property. Custom designed house from the 40s with beam architecture, very rare / deep heated salt water pool and home is fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy your time and entertainment system & upgraded Wi-Fi (04/2019). This is a multi million dollar property, with loads of parking, private driveway, gated, nice gardens and all sorts of land surrounding the home. Property boasts a recently upgraded heated, inground, salt water pool open May thru mid- October. Entire home and property, quaint restos and cafes in Maple Bay, Birds Eye Cove, Genoa Bay, Cowichan Bay and endless amenities and tourist destinations nearby. It is an older home and like all homes, there may be unexpected issues that pop up and we will respond as quickly as we can should something arise. The Maple Bay Retreat is located in the beautiful seaside community of Maple Bay. Maple Bay is one of the finest natural harbours on the West Coast of British Columbia. With is warm summers and moderate winter climate; there is no greater place to experience the golden sunshine other than Maple Bay. The Maple Bay Retreat home is spread out over one level and has been extensively renovated in 2005. The main living space, centered by a sturdy rock faced wood burning fireplace, gives rise to an open design. Floor to ceiling windows, allow natural sunlight to fill the room and allow guests to take full advantage of the views from all areas of the house. The entire main floor is finished in maple hardwood and areas of stone. This living space is furnished with luxurious sectional. For the chef in the family, new counter tops, back splash and all stainless steel appliances decorate the kitchen area. The dining area shares space with the main living area and features a contemporary cappuccino bar table that seats 8 people. The relaxed feel of this set allows for casual dining and doubles as an entertainment area for cards or games. The master bedroom with a queen-sized bed is located at the front of the house, with large windows to take advantage of the views. The guest bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and lots of storage space. There is a small office separated from the living room by three quarter height pony walls which keeps the open feel of the house while still allowing some privacy. There is a casita suite attached to the house via the carport, it is a private sanctuary with a lux king size bed & full bathroom. Outside decks are in a two-tier design. The first level is spacious with flowerpots, BBQ, and a fire pit. A full set of outdoor patio furniture with propane lanterns finishes the area. The second area contains full size swimming pool which is open from May through September. There are plenty activities to do for both outdoor and marine enthusiasts. You may wish to moor your boat at one of the many sheltered marinas that dot the shoreline between Maple Bay and Genoa Bay. Canoe, Kayak, and boat rentals companies are all available nearby. Experience the city of totems in Duncan, which is only 15 minutes way, or stroll the seaside shops and attractions in Cowichan Bay. A short drive to Chemainus and see the little town that could with its magnificent world famous murals and plenty of artisan shops and galleries. Victoria is only a short 1-hour drive away where the World Famous Butchart Gardens and Royal BC Museum are sure to be a highlight of our vacation. We highly suggest you visit the Art of Man museum only blocks away in Maple Bay as it is a world class display of world famous traveller, hunter and naturalist Jim Shockey. Property is easy to access and the town of Duncan has every amenity you need, taxi's available and many sea plane options from Maple Bay. Sea planes land and depart direct from Maple Bay to downtown Vancouver and Vancouver International airport which is only a 20 minute flight assuming no stops in between (which are always quite fun). Nanaimo is only a 40 minute drive and Victoria maybe 50 minutes all depending on traffic. Maid, landscaper and handy man all live in Maple Bay so any issue can be addressed quickly. The suite on other side of car port has baseboard heating so if chilly, be sure to turn on and turn off when you leave. The house has a very toasty new furnace.
