This Cottage is truly a place to get away for a romantic weekend! Your year round destination, all seasons have something special to offer. Hiking, biking, and water sports in the spring, summer and fall. National Park, Black Canyon of the Gunnison is 6 miles away. For the winter traveler we have three ski resorts an hour away in each direction. And as always, sightseeing in the fresh mountain air can’t be beat. October 2020, the interior has been updated, freshly painted and new flooring. Our professionally designed, charming one room cottage embodies rest and romance. The Cottage has air conditioning as well as heat to keep the temperature as you desire. There is a kitchenette with a refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and hot pot. We stock an assortment of teas and coffee, as well as popcorn if you should choose to sit back and enjoy a night watching Netflix/Amazon/Hulu on the TV in your bedroom. There are outside games available in the backyard (cornhole), a gas grill is available for your use, as well wood for the fire pit. (S’mores can be provided upon request.) The guesthouse is located on a small farm in Montrose. Summer activities abound with hiking, sightseeing, ATV trails and beautiful mountain lakes and streams full of fish. For winter activities, we are an hour (plus a few minutes) from three major ski areas, Telluride, Crested Butte, and Powder Horn. Guests can enjoy interacting with our goats and sheep, exploring the quaint local shops and breweries, or sipping on a glass of wine while gathering around our backyard fire pit. Our small farm is located just a short, ten minute drive from downtown Montrose. We have beautiful shade trees that make for a relaxing setting for a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine. Views of the Black Canyon peak through the surrounding farms as you soak in the view from the backyard. Breathtaking views of the Uncompaghre Plateau and the San Juan mountains surround Montrose. The keys to your private Cottage will be available upon arrival. We try our best to be available to greet each guest upon arrival as well as making ourselves available during your stay should you need any thing. However, the guest Cottage is entirely yours during your stay. We do not enter your private home. Yellow Cottage Farm and Guesthouse is named after the lovely yellow cottage and hand painted guesthouse on our quaint little farm. We recently returned to Montrose and semi-retired here after a life of traveling and living abroad. We would love to swap stories of adventure and travel if you would like to sit around and chat. However, the private access to the cottage allows for peace, quiet and seclusion if you would rather take some time for work and reflection. Our farm is located on a quiet, country road. We are surrounded by family farms with lots of tall trees, pastures and the occasional cow and deer wandering past. We have a large parking area available to our guests.
