Charming vacation rental with wifi and kitchen. Live, work and play on your own or with your family whilst you explore the 80 acre historic Balenbouche Estate, river and two secluded beaches. Hiking, waterfalls, volcano, hot springs, pitons, snorkeling and kite surfing nearby. Get your meals and groceries delivered (supermarket and restaurants are a 10 min drive). Our other listings include Banyan, Waterlily, Calabash and Frangipani Cottage! Almond Cottage is spacious, bright and airy, surrounded by lush tropical gardens. It's unique and charming design takes advantage of the natural breeze. The house offers two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a kitchen, and a large covered living area/veranda. Our guests love the swinging lounge chairs and the semi-outdoor shower built with natural stone! The entire rental home and the surrounding private 80 acre property is accessible to guests. There is a common area with wifi in the main Plantation house, where meals by reservation are served. The Estate includes beautiful gardens and trails, an 18th century sugar mill, a yoga studio and waterlily ponds. Two small beaches and a local restaurant are within walking distance. Our German-American-St Lucian family has lived and worked at Balenbouche for over 30 years and looks forward to having you stay with us and helping you get to know our beautiful island! Two beaches are within walking distance, and activities such as yoga, massages and guided tours are offered on site. A restaurant is a 5 minute walk away. The supermarket and several great beaches are a 15 minute drive away, and many of the islands best attractions are just a 30 minute drive away. During the 14 day quarantine, you can take taxis to the sites and attractions and some restaurants, and we can arrange for grocery and meal delivery. If you stay on longer, we suggest renting a car for at least a few days. The public buses operate between towns from 6 am - 6 pm every day except Sundays and holidays, and do not have a schedule. The average wait time is 20 minutes, and you can get on and off anywhere along the road. Our buildings do not have air conditioning or screens, as they are built in a tropical, traditional and eco-friendly style. Balenbouche Estate is most suitable for nature lovers and travelers wishing to experience authentic island life.
