Quaint Vacation House, Sea View

Exclusive use of the whole house, in a local neighborhood, perfectly positioned to explore both the natural, the native and the more touristy sides of Aruba. If If you prefer the tranquility of a blue lagoon over crowded beaches in tourist areas, then my house may just be your ticket to a perfect getaway. Quiet neighborhood,no heavy nor disturbing car traffic in the vicinity. Basic amenities.... (please see amenities tab and house rules) You have exclusive occupancy of my home for your stay. I travel a lot and I often take care of other houses for a living so I decided to rent it when I am not staying there. (Sometimes you may also find me next door, at a cabin next to the house) Everything in the house has been recycled, or was purchased 2nd hand, or given by good friends... so if you are NOT looking for luxury and frills, and you want to taste the "local flavor" and the "simple life" without TV... I am sure you will feel at home! Air-conditioned ONLY in bedroom. Bed linen, one set of hand,bath and beach towels provided per person per week. There is a kitchen (with kettle, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator, stove top, microwave, dish towels -if you absolutely need paper towels you can always get them at the nearest minimarket-,small electric oven..), living room, 2 bathrooms (NO HOT WATER, sorry...only "island temperature" water). The now dubbed by the guests "legendary" porch complete with table, chairs, couch and hammocks is the perfect place to relax when you wake up in the morning or at sunset time, overlooking the garden and enjoying the ocean view. Your water and electricity are included in the rental, however up to a certain point. We will take meter readings with you at check in and check out and explain you how to be energy efficient so you will stay within your free budget (US$10.00 per day). This daily free budget really is more than enough to stay comfortable and cool, yet energy efficient and will only use air conditioner when you are using the room (with windows and doors closed) but turn it off when you wake up or leave the house. Possible excess usage will be charged cash at check out. Water will be charged USD 8,00 per m3 (one m3 is a thousand liters). Electricity will be charged USD 0,50 per kwh We have to work with budgets because water and electricity are expensive in Aruba. Our experience is that guests will report running toilets and be more concious and wise about their usage thus water and electricity will not get wasted. I strongly recommend renting a car, it is hot and windy here and if you really want to see the island and all the beaches it is the best choice. If you choose not to do so, there is public transportation (that will only take you to downtown and the more "touristic" areas). The nearest bus stop is within walking distance (800 yrds). There is a small supermarket 1/2 a mile away and some restaurants as well. The quiet, very local "Nautical Club" restaurant is 2 blocks away! Beside the beach towels, a cooler, beach chairs and some snorkeling gear are available so you will save a bundle on chair rentals and can explore and visit any beach and be comfortable. Check-in is after 3 pm, and check-out is by 10 am, but it is flexible based on availability. It depends on what time the previous guests are leaving, or the next guests are arriving. We will always give you as much time as possible or take care of your luggage while you make the most of your vacation. Kindly complete your profile and post a picture of you :) before contacting me. I want to add (thanks for reading until the end) that Aruba is very very safe, but as in every place on earth, you need to use your common sense. Please please please close all doors and windows before leaving the property. Also, when you go to bed, make sure all doors and windows are closed.
