Vanilla Jungle Lodge - Rainforest Adventure

A unique nature experience awaits you. Find peace and quiet in a small park around these accommodations: "El Rancho", wooden house with palm roof, 50 sqm with 1 living-/1 bedroom. Or "La Cascada", small stone cottage, directly on the shore, 1 double bed, hammock, open fireplace. WiFi in public areas The accommodations each have a double bed and separate toilets. On the terrace of your house you have the possibility to enjoy nature in a hammock. You will also find a shared bathroom and a kitchen with a fridge where you can prepare your own meals. You have separate access to your detached house and are not disturbed by anyone Our finca is located in the north of Costa Rica, in the canton of Sarapiqui, in the Caribbean hinterland, close to the border with Nicaragua. The area is part of the San Juan - La Selva biological corridor. The immediate region has a great diversity of habitats such as lagoons, streams, wetlands, cattle pastures, scrubland, secondary and primary forest, which allows for a very high biodiversity. Around 420 species of birds, over 1000 species of butterflies, 25 species of lizards, 44 species of frogs and toads, 56 species of snakes and 114 mammals (many of which are bats) have been recorded here. The most common species encountered in our finca are howler monkeys, poison dart frogs, green iguanas, caimans, giant tropical ants, tapirs, agoutis, hummingbirds, toucans and parrots. The estate's vanilla plantation is maintained like a park. Below a small waterfall, a natural swimming pool between rocks invites you to swim all year round. The estate is accessible by vehicle all year round (even in the rainy season), is connected to the public electricity grid and has telephone and internet reception. A little extra of the Vanilla Jungle Lodge is a pond system fed by the small jungle river "Quebrada Grande". The tilapia fish farmed here are sold at the local market. This installation is also a nice place for our guests to stay. Are you travelling as a backpacker and looking for the way into the jungle? No problem ! If you arrive in Puerto Viejo/Sarapiqui, you have the possibility to reach us by bus. If that is too complicated, we will also be happy to pick you up from the bus station and bring you back there. If you would like to cook and prepare your own food, there is a small grocery shop in the neighbouring village (15 minutes walk). Alcoholic drinks are not available here. What we also offer: 1. "Breakfast service" (from $ 10,- / day and person): If you just want to sit down for breakfast at a set table, come to the terrace of our lodge and enjoy the wide view and the jungle panorama. The offer ranges from the "European" breakfast with baguette, butter and homemade jam, coffee or tea, fruits of the season to the traditional "Latino" breakfast with Gallo Pinto.
