Designed by Woodstock artist Paul Fiene, the main room has vaulted ceilings, a stained glass window, a brand new fireplace, and all the comforts and conveniences you'd expect, including a pull out sectional sofa and a large farmhouse table perfect for meals or working from home. There is also a Pack 'n Play for younger guests. Outside, enjoy the deck and grill, fire pit and separate studio building (not meant for winter), all in a woodsy, secluded setting yet minutes from shopping, dining, galleries, movies, hiking and other outdoor activities. Our home has a large private deck where you can grill and hang out. The studio (not meant for winter) is perfect for some private time to read, do some yoga or meditate, take a nap, or finish that project that's been nagging you. Woodstock offers many activities: hiking, galleries, shopping, dining out. We provide Wifi and cable TV. There is ample, off-street parking at the cottage. The house is a 5 minute drive to the center of town where the Trailways bus drops off Woodstock passengers. The Kingston bus station is a 20 minute drive. It's a 30 minute drive to the Rhinecliff stop on Amtrak. We LOVE animals (and you're sure to see some while there) but unfortunately, due to a severe owner dog allergy and in respect to allergies other guests might have, we have a strict no pets policy that cannot be waived. Our co-host Ann Marie will be the point person and is always available to answer any questions guests may have. Speare Road is private, wooded and historic. Your neighbors are predominantly working artists, and you're a quick five minute drive to everything you would need in the town of Woodstock. There is no through traffic to disturb you. We recommend having a car. Although you're within walking distance to Sunfrost Farms where you can pick up just about anything you'll need to make a meal, a car will definitely make your trip a lot easier. Woodstock has several municipal parking lots. At the western end of town, near the library, look for Comeau drive. At the center of town, there are two lots on Rock City Road. There is a cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed, plus a queen sized pull out sofa in the living room, which has a door that locks in order to create a sense of privacy. We also offer a separate studio building which is a great meditation/yoga room (not meant for winter but we do have a space heater if you want to try). You can spend time here finishing up your novel or working on laying our your photography book. We have a single daybed in here for your comfort. We have a lot of animal "neighbors" at the property so please, whether you are cooking outside or bringing food to eat outside on the deck, ensure that you clean everything up and bring it inside. Never leave any food outside. Finally, although there are plenty of heaters, bring some slippers and/or thick socks in colder weather, as the floors can be a little chilly on cold mornings.
