Enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the Blue Ridge Mountains from this homey cottage on the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile marker 334). At a cool elevation of 3,500 feet there is always a lovely cool breeze. Private in every way. Fine dining and bar within walking distance. This space has the feel of a 1940's cottage in the woods. Refrigerator, kitchenette, electric fireplace. High in the tree tops, it feels like a tree house with plenty of privacy. The cottage is about 20 ft. above the ground. The living room, kitchen and bedroom are all together in one room. Approximately 350 square feet total. There is a drape that can be pulled to separate bedroom from the living room. Great place for a writer or artist to gain inspiration. We provide you with coffee and tea and a couple of light pastries to start your day. We provide Half and Half, sugar and or your choice of sweeteners for you coffee. After the middle of April——there is within walking distance —fine dining and bar with live entertainment at the Chalet restaurant. There is shopping at the gift shops of the Switzerland Inn. Close to Mount Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain and Lake Lure. Fabulous hiking, rafting and great outdoor activities nearby or just sit and read a good book. Gas firepit on the deck for enjoying a cool evening outdoors. Occasionally deer and bear come through the yard but you are safe high above the ground. We also have a beautiful waterfall within hiking distance. Golfing can be found at nearby Grassy Creek Golf Course (6 miles away) or you can be at magnificent Mount Mitchell Golf Course in a 20 minute drive. Note: This listing is not handicapped accessible. This is a turn-key operation. We will make sure all is to your liking when you arrive and then you are on your own. Our home is such that we are not aware of your comings or goings. So, we are in easy contact via phone or text to help with any needs. We live in our home on the opposite side of the garage. Our neighborhood is private and quiet. Our neighbors are respectful of others and enjoy chatting if passed on the road. There is no public transit here. Ammenities: We now have consistently reliable WiFi. TV is delivered with Amazon Fire stick so there is plenty of entertainment to choose from. Electric fireplace in living room, kitchenette, refrigerator, coffee maker, stove, microwave, toaster oven, deck with gas fireplace, fine dining and bar within walking distance, shower in bathroom, you can choose between having two twin beds or king. There is Walmart shopping 4 miles away. Small pets permitted (let us know in advance). In an effort to be totally transparent...the shower and the toilet area of the cottage are considerably small. Take a good look at the pictures of the bathroom and be sure it will work for you. If you are a large person it may not be comfortable for you. Text me if you need more information regarding this. Please park your vehicle in the rock pull over across the road from the cottage (you can park in the driveway to load and unload). We will make sure all is to your liking when you arrive, by text,and then you are on your own. We want you to have your privacy and work towards that end.
