Pura Vida. 600 sq ft Guest Cabina is located on the edge of a small pueblo in the middle of the largest coffee plantation in Costa Rica. It sleeps four and has hot water. It has a Jacuzzi overlooking a river and an active volcano. This is a unique property. Check out the photos. The three most unique aspects of this property is: 1. the location, on the private edge of a quaint pueblo in the middle of the largest coffee plantation in Costa Rica (visit (Website hidden by Airbnb) You feel like you are in a world apart but civilization is right next door. 2. manicured grounds and endless panoramic views. Many of the tropical flowers throughout the property bloom year 'round. 3. and blessed, quiet privacy while soaking in the balcony hot tub. Unlimited wireless internet is available. The full size kitchen includes a refrigerator with a large freezer plus a cooktop and oven. A modern clothes washer and propane dryer are available for long term guests (minimum 5 days stay). Otherwise you can request laundry service for an additional fee. (not available on weekends) My wife and I generally stay in Aquiares- also listed on airbnb ( on the same grounds) during the months of January, February and March. During that time we will be available to interact freely with the guests. Otherwise, the neighboring family hosts the Cabina. The eastern side of Costa Rica is green all year and does not suffer from tourist fatigue. It is a more "authentic" Costa Rica with no US fast food chains or large hotels. The Caribbean coast has beautiful, sandy beaches without the tourist crowds. Turrialba is located halfway between San Jose and the Caribbean coast via the old highway (exit San Jose through Cartago). Turrialba is set in a bucolic valley and is surrounded by large sugar cane and coffee plantations. It is large enough to have a hospital and numerous doctors and dentists, some of whom speak English (we will provide references). One of the primary draws for the Turrialba area is white water rafting on the Pacuare River. The only ancient ruins in Costa Rica is located nearby in Guayabo National Park. Numerous guests have praised Francis for his cost effective and safe transportation. He will pick you up at the airport and deliver you directly to the cabina for only $85. If you decide to rent a vehicle, four wheel drive is not required. Relatively flat all weather roads will bring you to the front door. A dedicated parking spot large enough for two vehicles is assigned to the Guest Cabina. Downtown Turrialba is only a 15 minute drive. You may want to consider spending two nights if you come to run the Pacuare River. The tour operators usually leave Turrialba at 6 or 7 am and don't return until late afternoon. A good soak in the hot tub after the river run is always relaxing before sleeping to sounds of the Jesus Maria River below. If you have a hankering to live in Costa Rica, Helen and I will be happy to share our experiences during the past 11 years. If you are interesting in getting hitched in the Aquiares church we can provide the appropriate references.
