Sky Beach Cabin is a cute cozy bungalow style cabin only fifty steps from scenic Skykomish River in the Cascade Mountains 60 miles northeast of Seattle, 24 miles west of Stevens Pass ski area. There is a half-mile long rocky/sandy river beach much of the year, great for kids and dogs to explore. Lounge chairs, firepit, and table/chairs are on the beach in the summer to put you right next to the river with a great view of the surrounding Cascade Mountains. The cabin is reminiscent of rustic beach bungalows but completely remodeled inside with upscale touches such as a terrific full kitchen, wifi, very comfortable king bed, covered outdoor deck and hot tub, and adorable fishing cabin decor. There is also a small deck off the main bedroom with a mountain and river view - great place for coffee in the morning sun. Outdoor recreationists will love the rural mountainous area of Northwest Washington with three nearby wilderness areas and a national forest with great hiking, whitewater rafting & kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, seasonal fishing, and rock climbing. The cabin is 24 miles west of Stevens Pass Ski Mountain with skiing, mountain biking, summer scenic chairlift rides, and disc golf. The cabin is 60 miles/90 minutes northeast of Seattle. Note: You don't have to drive over a pass to get to the cabin when coming from the Seattle area. However, you need to be prepared for winter driving conditions approximately late November-March. In the summer the beach is set up with a fire pit for beach fires, chairs & loungers next to the Skykomish River, providing a charming place to relax and enjoy the sound of the river lapping on the beach. Sky Beach Cabin is located in a sparsely populated area, so most likely you will have the beach to yourselves, with the occasional fisherman walking by. The rocky beach is an easy 25ft from the cabin (no steep bank). There is also a fire ring in the yard next to the cabin which can be used year-round weather permitting and no burn ban. The cabin is located on a wooded lot. There are other cabins in the area as well as private residences, with fences on both sides to provide privacy. The main bedroom has a newer king log bed with 2" memory foam topper, a 32" TV, smart/blue ray DVD player, and writing desk with river view. Good size closet for longer stay storage. The second bedroom is located on the opposite end of the cabin, providing privacy. This bedroom has bunk beds with full on bottom and twin above. (Note: the upper bunk is not suitable for small children as it does not have a side rail.) In order to keep costs down, the second bedroom is closed off when there are only two people and the saving is passed on to you as lower rental rates. If the second bedroom is needed when there are only two people, it will be made available for a one-time additional charge of $25. The base rate is for double occupany-two people/one bed. The cozy living room has leather sofa, hickory rocking chair, 42" TV, Dish TV, roku, stereo, and electric fireplace. The kitchen has all the major appliance, and many small appliances including coffee maker, bean grinder, toaster, mixer, food processor, microwave. The dining table seats up to four people with a view of the river. There is also seating for two at the kitchen island (doubles as game table). Up to two clean, flea-free, quiet mature dogs are allowed with an additional charge starting at $20/dog/night. Discount for multiple nights and/or multiple dogs - see notes below rates listings. An adjustment will be made to the quote if there are more than one dog or reservation is more than three nights. Please make a comment if there will be more than one dog. Note: 4WD, AWD or chains may be required at times in winter. The road is plowed, but it is a somewhat rough mountain road. There will be snow at the cabin when the snow level is 1,000ft or below.
