CITQ establishment numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Luxury eco-friendly chalet situated on a dead end road just outside the sleepy little town of Mansonville with private pond suitable for swimming. We use geothermal energy and have hydronic radiant heated floors with AC provided by a fan coil using chilled water. This system is extremely efficient and allows for maximum comfort throughout the home year-round for our guests :-) This offering is for the entire 2nd floor of the chalet which is completely private and has it's own exterior entrance. Only the outdoor areas are shared with us and other guests. We ourselves live full time on the lower level and will always give our guests priority to all shared outdoor spaces. Designed with comfort and privacy in mind, the home where you will be staying includes a private entrance for guests, 2 large bedrooms with shared access to master bathroom and separate wash-closet, a very large kitchen and massive great room area. You have access to a private laundry area (washer and dryer) for a fee of $4 per load between the hours of 10am and 10pm. Promotion (Currently on hold due to COVID-19): If you are planning on paying a visit to Bolton spa, we offer access to the thermal experience for a flat fee of $15 per person for each night of your reservation. There is a maximum of 2 guests for any given date. Not valid on your check-out date and reservations are made on a first come first serve basis. All outdoor spaces (Pond, dock, pic-nic area, parking, etc.) are shared with our other guests staying in the 'Hummingbird Room' on the lower level. Please note that we only provide heavy quilts for all our beds and no duvets. This helps us cut down on the amount of washing required and prevents our septic system from being overloaded. If you prefer, please feel free to bring your own duvets with you for your stay. It is our goal to always provide you with a good nights rest during your entire visit. All beds have memory foam hybrid mattresses. During the colder months, there are hydronic radiant floors throughout to keep you warm and cozy. Air conditioning is provided by a fan coil on the upper level. Since there are not a lot of restaurants in the direct vicinity, the kitchen should prove very useful during your stay. Surrounded by natural beauty, every attempt has been made to preserve the land and its wildlife to put you in touch with nature. To this end, there are NO hot tubs, trampolines or other distractions. Outdoors, there is a fire pit, picnic table, meditation platform, a few small trails and sitting areas scattered throughout the property. This is little oasis away from it all for you and your partner to enjoy. We suggest bringing a book to read by the side of the pond. Or perhaps, a little meditation on your private deck to help fine tune your body and senses. During the winter months, there are plenty of outdoor activities to be had nearby especially for avid hikers, snowshoers and downhill/x-country skiers. There are plenty of backwoods trails in the vicinity including right here in our own backyard where we have a small 30 minute loop. If you would like to bring your own canoe or kayak, there is an access point (a few minutes away from our property) to the North Missisquoi river which feeds down into the main Missisquoi river at Highwater. Not to far downstream is a large set of rapids with a waterfall in the town of Mansonville which would need to be portaged. It is also possible to paddle upstream towards Bolton and then return back to your entry point. Another possibility is to head directly by car to the main Missisquoi river which is more suited to long day trips. This is a very popular activity all summer long in the area. For your time indoors, we have provided some little pleasures...board games, playing cards, books and magazines, hopefully as a reminder of when enjoying life was so much simpler. We hope to differentiate ourselves from all the other rentals in the area by offering a unique experience. Hopefully you will enjoy our place as much as we do. Any feedback to help us improve our offering would be greatly appreciated. You have full access to the outside of the property at all times. This includes our private spring-fed pond which is a welcome site on especially hot afternoons to take a dip. We would love to share our experiences about building our home and tell you all about what makes it so unique to anything else in the region. Spoiler alert! It is run entirely (heating, cooling and hot water) by way of geothermal energy using our very own pond. We will do our best to help with any of your needs. We have a private space reserved for our personal use in the home and expect to be available in person some of the time. If not, we are usually not too far away and will be reachable via mobile phone. We are dedicated to making your stay as pleasant as possible and are open to any and all reasonable requests. The township of Potton, of which Mansonville is the sole village, is renowned for its unique landscapes and scenery. From rolling hillsides to pristine forest reserves, it is located at the northern tip of the Green Mountains range. There are plenty of everyday outdoor activities including hiking, biking (fat-bike in winter), golfing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, skiing and snowshoeing throughout the region along with plenty of scenery to enjoy. We are situated near Owl's Head ski and golf as well as the Jay Peak resort which is view-able from the bottom of our driveway (Don't forget your passports). A first in Canada, VéloVolant will slowly wind you through the tree canopies on a bicycle all while in a reclined seating position and reaching heights of a hundred feet! Not to be missed, the Abbey in Saint-Benoit-Du-Lac will delight you with their award winning cheeses, unique architecture and spectacular scenery. Places to visit nearby (Including actual driving times which are very accurate since we don't have any traffic to deal with out here ;-) ). Owl's Head Mountain (Hike/Bike/Ski/Golf) - 15min Bolton Centre (Spa) - 16min Big Falls (Vermont) - 21min Velo Volant (Glen Sutton) - 22min Lac Brome / Knowlton - 25min Eastman (Spa) - 25min Haut Bois Normand (Arbre Adventure / Glissade sur tube / Cabane a sucre) - 30min Jay Peak Resort (Vermont) - 30min Spa Nordic Station - 32min Newport (Vermont) - 36min Magog (Bleu Lavendre) - 37min Sutton - 35min Orford - 43min Bromont - 48min Sherbrooke - 54min Lake Willoughby Vermont (State Forest/Public Beach/Nude Beach) - 56min Stanstead - 57min To get around you will need to have your own vehicle since there is no truly affordable public transportation in the area. We will provide you with a private parking area during your entire stay. We have full short-term renters insurance which fully protects us and our guests from any potential litigation. Standard home insurance as well as Airbnb's own guest insurance are extremely limited in the protection they provide and do not cover costly claims related to fires and personal injury. This coverage is considerably more expensive but we feel it is worth it to protect ourselves as well as our guests :-)
