SAVE $ breakfast included!! 2021 bookings require proof of Covid 19 vaccination for all guests over 16. •2 bedrooms available. 1st has a queen size bed and 2nd has a single twin size bed. 2 full bathrooms shared with hosts. Both bedrooms have dressers, hooks, extra pillows, blankets and full length mirrors! The 2nd smaller bedroom is typically used if you have an additional 3rd guest. The queen size bedroom has a flat screen cable TV. •Travel light! Let us provide essential toiletries (Liquid Dove Soap, Toothpaste, Q-Tips, Cotton Pads, Facial Cleanser & Toner, Shaving Cream, Shampoo & Conditioner, Tissues, Body Lotion, Hand Cream, Hand Sanitizer, Contact Lens Solution). Just bring your own toothbrush and deodorant! Blow Dryer and Alarm Clock are also available. •Also available: Air Purifier, Humidifier, Ironing Board/Iron, Steam Iron, Electric Blanket. •Sit and relax in our modern farmhouse kitchen next to a cozy fireplace and enjoy free tea, organic orange juice, organic milk, vanilla almond milk, coffee, espresso and snacks. Equipment is in great shape but exercise is at your own risk. You can also walk or jog in our safe neighborhood and we are only 10 minutes away from Great Kills Gateway National Park which has a wonderful marina, beach and great walking/jogging trail. •Private Library reading room that you are welcome to put your feet up, have a cup of tea or coffee and relax in. •Living room with cozy fireplace that you are welcome to share with us. •Washer and Dryer available. We live on a school block so parking is at a premium during school hours (7:00-2:30) or during infrequent Parent/Teacher meetings. However, we have a driveway we can share during those busier times. School drop-off and pick-up times are hectic for about a 10 minute window. •We may be able to provide SUV or car transport within Staten Island or to Manhattan, Brooklyn or New Jersey for an additional fee upon request. Local car services are also available. Uber is also very popular. •Please communicate clearly through the reservation process if you have any special requests or concerns and which bedroom(s) you are booking. -Security cameras on perimeter of home as well as first floor common areas (not in bathroom of course). No cameras on second floor. -Please review House Rules section. Especially note no cooking or space for fridge perishables. Pretty much all areas except our private bedrooms. We share bathrooms on each floor but my husband and I try to use the downstairs one as much as possible to allow for more privacy upstairs. Upstairs bidet includes a built-in fan deodorizer and we have air fresheners in each bathroom. We usually use the living room to watch TV and you are welcome to join us. If you prefer to view TV in private, there is a TV in the Queen size bedroom and one in the basement TV viewing area. TVs have cable and premium channels as well as on-demand movies you can stream. My husband is retired and in and out throughout the day. We are both available by cell most of the time and can help you with information about the area and basic local directions or information about traveling into the city. We respect your privacy. We want you to enjoy your stay and we value good reviews so please communicate if anything is not to your satisfaction as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to correct it. Get away from the frantic pace of Manhattan and enjoy a comfortable stay in a safe residential NYC neighborhood just an hour away. Within a five minute walking distance you can catch an express bus that will take you into lower Manhattan in under an hour. Also, within a few blocks is a train that will take you to the Staten Island Ferry that also travels into lower Manhattan. The ferry ride is a quick and scenic 25 minute ride and a favorite tourist attraction because it is free and you pass the Statue of Liberty on your left as you travel into the city. Staten Island commuters use these transports daily! If you are visiting your child at one of our college campuses, we offer you a wonderful, cozy and safe home to enjoy your stay! •10 minute walk to Staten Island Railway (SIR) station and 5 minute walk to local city and express bus stops. •Travel into the city (lower Manhattan) via train/ferry in approximately an hour. The Island Railway (SIR) train ride to the Staten Island Ferry St George stop is 17 (express) or 25 (local) minutes. The Staten Island Ferry is a 25 minute ride to Lower Manhattan. We are at the Great Kills stop and can provide hard copies of the train/ferry map and schedule. Both of these run 24 hours a day. Contact us for more details. •Sit back and relax by traveling into the city (lower Manhattan) via an Express Bus ride in approximately 45-60 minutes (return trip is generally longer). The buses run 24 hours a day. We can provide hard copies of the bus maps and schedules. Contact us for more details. •Walking distance to supermarkets, bakeries, donut shops, restaurants, pancake house, delis, pizzerias, banks, drugstores, hair/nail salons and tanning parlors. •15 min car ride to the Staten Island Mall. •30 min car ride to the Staten Island Ferry and to the Wagner/St Johns/CUNY College campuses. •20 minute ride to the South Beach boardwalk for a lovely walk by the ocean with amazing views of the Verrazano Bridge. •5 min car ride to Great Kills Gateway National Park and Marina which has a great walking/jogging trail. This is also a very popular beach and fishing spot. •10 min car ride to The Tibetan Museum in Lighthouse Hill. •10 min car ride to Historic Richmondtown. •15 min car ride to the Outerbridge Crossing into NJ. 20 minutes to the Goethals or Bayonne bridges into NJ. 25 minutes to the Verrazano bridge into Brooklyn. 45 minutes to the Jersey Shore. •We may be able to provide some car service (for a fee) to travel within Staten Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn or New Jersey. Please note that entering Staten Island always involves a bridge toll. There are also local car service companies available. There are local buses but most islanders use their car for local transport. 2 small hypoallergenic (hair,not fur) dogs on premise. Little Rickie (4 lb Yorkie) and our rescue dog, Mia (7 lb Morkie). Both are very mellow, non-biting and sweet (sleep 90% of the time although Mia does bark for a minute if someone comes to the door). Dogs do NOT have access to your bedrooms on the 2nd floor!
