Greenhaven sits on the highest mountain on our working coffee farm. There are trails for nature study and physical exercise. Our working farm produces specialty coffee, cacao beans for our Apasionados(An Exquisite Love Affair) dark chocolate with our coffee in them, citrus and other tropical fruits in an ecologically friendly manner. We live on the 225 acre plantation and welcome our guests personally. The farm is located at one of the highest points of Puerto Rico's central cordillera, with lake and ocean views. Watch stars at night, or see the lights of planes landing at faraway airport. There are 2 BR, a great room, kitchen, bath, front porch and back balconyl Greenhaven is a secluded house for you only. We live down the mountain, about a quarter of a mile away and are your closest neighbors. Guests will have access to mountain vistas, nearby tourist attractions for day trips, plus a variety of local offerings in and around Adjuntas. Greenhaven is situated centrally, about two hours from either San Juan or Rincon, and an hour from Ponce. We "ferry" people up and down as little or as often as they wish in our Jeep 4x4. We welcome guests and attend to their needs during their stay. We are fully tri-lingual(English, Spanish, and Carmelo's German). Our home is just down the hill from Green Haven, where you will be staying. Nights are much cooler, especially November-March.The "neighborhood" is rural with coffee farming/agriculture being the activity of most of us. This is the way many people lived years ago, with some modern conveniences added. There is no public transportation. Access to the farm is via highways and paved interior roads which have their faults but are passable. Pay attention to the directions as some apps are off. Rt 135 to Rt 548 Km 3.9. Adjuntas Sandra Farms is flagged on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps, BUT BE SURE YOU GET ON 548--there is a sign on the right (You may be sent to the right immediately after the bridge (just a dirt road), BUT 548 is a bit further ahead and paved. Turn right off of Carretera 135 just after Km. 12.9 You will continue straight on 548 to Km. 3.9 ** Honk when you get here.Park your car in our yard, and we will transfer you to our Jeep Wrangler 4X4 to take you safely up the mountain to Greenhaven in the Cloud Forest. We are available to shuttle you back and forth, but you are welcome to walk down if you want the exercise. Guests have the option of bringing groceries for cooking/preparing, eating before arriving, bringing take-out food. Late arrivals may not find open eateries nearby. Generally, eateries include one $$ restaurant, Chinese restaurant, various local fare restaurants, and bakeries/restaurants. There is a supermarket in town (at least 15 minutes away), and nearby bodegas and bakeries.The nightly rate is for two people.There is a $10 per person fee for the third and fourth guest.
