Our Private Suite is located upstairs over the carport with a separate entrance, has two full size beds, its' own bath and a balcony overlooking the property, with A/C, Roku TV, and a beautiful wood floor. It is very private and cozy. We are situated on 3 1/2 acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country community of Johnson City. We are an .8 mi. walk from downtown with restaurants, Hill Country Science Mill and shops. Our farm has chickens, guineas, a horse, a couple of donkeys and a calf. The Private Suite is a comfortable 12' x 20' room upstairs with its' own bathroom and balcony. This room is dedicated to my very talented paternal grandmother, Hilda Weisiger, an artist who painted in oils, excelled with a needle of any kind, and enjoyed many other types of crafts. She created the seat on the desk chair, covered the platform rocker, made the quilt on the bed, and stitched the plaque above the dresser. She also painted everything else hanging on the walls! Housekeeping Details: You will need to be able to ascend and descend the stairs with your luggage. The Suite is equipped with two full size beds and bedside table between them with a lamp, ROKU TV, and a reading chair. There is a closet with fresh linens and towels, as well as extra pillows. We recently added a mini-fridge to this room, for your convenience. About your hosts: We are a husband-wife team who enjoy good food and good company. Pets/Smoking: We have two dogs that are in and out during the day but sleep inside and three outside cats. We love dogs but do not allow them as guests, in order to avoid territorial or personality issues. You are more than welcome to enjoy our pets if you're missing yours, because they will love the attention! Smoking is not allowed in the house or the cabin, but outside is fine, as long as smokers do not leave their butts behind in the grass or on the porch. Morning coffee is available in your room or the kitchen. A full, hot breakfast is provided upon request the night before. We serve in the dining room between 8:00-8:30am. We do not publish a menu, but you will be sure to have a hearty breakfast with our own farm fresh eggs ( prepared in a variety of ways), bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, quiche, homemade breads, French toast, etc. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know the night before so we can accommodate you your needs. Guests do have access to the kitchen and we are happy to make a bit of room in the refrigerator for your things if necessary. Our tap water is perfectly safe to drink, but bottled water is also available if you prefer it. We interact as much as our guests wish to. We love meeting new people and prefer to be here when our guests arrive, and available to you during your stay. I work from home, so I am usually here to help in any way needed, with directions, advice about the area, use of wifi or phone as needed, etc. Just let us know what you need. Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and our neighbors look out for one another. We enjoy walking in our neighborhood and to/from downtown. It is also convenient to shopping, restaurants and our local library. No public transportation available in Johnson City. However, there is a shuttle to the wineries in the area on Saturdays. Call ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or visit (URL HIDDEN) for information. An all-day pass costs $30.00. We live in a quiet residential neighborhood, 2 blocks off the highway and a 2 minute drive from downtown, where you can enjoy art galleries, antique shops, the Hill County Science Mill, and the LBJ Visitors Center and boyhood home. You are also right in the middle of the Hill Country Wine Tours region. if you are visiting during the Christmas Season, a special treat to experience is Lights Spectacular, a local tradition for over 20 years and the 3rd weekend in August is the Annual Blanco County Fair and Rodeo.
