Powder Hound Lodge sleeps 30-40

9 rooms, each with own bath 25 beds total - accommodates 35+-Ski, hike, mt. bike, kayak & snowmobile at Powder Hound Lodge nestled in a quaint Bavarian style ski village. Hike to 6 stunning waterfalls along the 12 miles scenic byway to L. Superior. Powder Hound Lodge serves groups and individuals with 9 rooms each with individual bathroom. Rooms can be rented individually from $90 up. This is the rental for the entire 9 room hotel-style lodge which sleeps 30 - 35 depending on how people double up in full & queen size beds. Shared full kitchen & grills. Each room sleeps different # of guests from a couple to an entire family. 6 rooms have a private entrance off a shared deck. We're located blocks from Big Powderhorn Ski Resort in Michigan's Upper Peninsula - Ironwood, Michigan. Just 12 miles south of Lake Superior along the Black River near hiking trails, xc and downhill ski, snowshoe & mountain bike and snowmobile access right out the door. Community areas offer great room & pool table, byob bar, cable TV and wifi (no TV/cable in the rooms). Bring groups to fill all 9 rooms or 30 - 35 people. We can accommodate more than 35 guests with our adjacent 2br chalet and other adjacent rental chalets in the ski village with Powder Hound Lodge as the group’s Hub. Black River Valley Pub/restaurant is across the street. Big Powderhorn Ski Resort has a main restaurant/bar open winter months and for private parties/weddings year-round. Local Arts & Outdoors are a local draw. Located 12 miles from L. Superior and just between Bessemer and Ironwood for shopping and entertainment. Sauna, byob lounge area, rec room with pool table, dining & reading areas with 3 fireplaces. We are a managed property with 24-hr management on site. Cable TV in rec room & lounge area. Wi fi in Most rooms. Common areas are open to all guests, shared full kitchen and fridges. Grills and deck area, byob bar area and rec room with TV/Cable. Typically ski/sled films playing in bar area and streaming winter sporting events in rec room. 3 fireplaces, bonfire pit and large outdoor area to play. Hosts Anne & Chris are on-site owners. We explore the area and will share anything we've learned. Snowmobile, fishing, mountain bike and hiking guides available. Located at Big Powderhorn, Powder Hound Lodge is nestled among Bavarian style chalets with view of the ski runs. Black jack, Indianhead are a 5 mile drive down highway 2. Back country snowmobile, fishing, mountain bike and hiking guides available upon request. We're on the Black River Scenic Byway that runs past Copper Peak Ski Flying Hill, 5 stunning waterfalls along the edge of the Ottawa National Forest and ends at Lake Superior and Black River Harbor. There's never a shortage of things to do at the Lodge. Typically, guests meet up and share stories of their adventures in the byob bar adjacent to the rec room at the end of the day. It's a social place where you'll be sure to make friends. We have 9 rooms total in the Lodge and 3 br in our adjacent ski chalet, sleep 30 - 35+. We have a lot of people who come in groups of 2 - 4 and plenty who organize 40 - 50. We have access to adjacent chalets for rent as well, so can accommodate groups of any size using the Lodge as the hub of activity. Daily flights from Chicago & Minneapolis on Air Choice One to Ironwood (IWD). Reds Auto or Taxi service (Twin City or Mr Cab) have cars & passenger vans. Greyhound services Ironwood making it a breeze to get here & get around. Ski in/ski out restaurants at Big Powderhorn Ski Resort blocks away. Black River Pub across the street within walking distance. Northwind Coop, Farmers Markets, Sunday Lake Market, Super One and Walmart, Pats IGA and Brite Spot liquors have groceries & beverages if you choose to grill or cook at the Lodge. Trail passes available at dealers and at Holiday Gas Station on Hwy 2 in Ironwood and Wakefield, BP station in Bessemer and VP in Ironwood. Fishing licenses available at Holiday and sold as individual 1 day pass or individual season pass. Ski areas may offer online specials if you buy lift tix ahead of time and online (sometimes). Check online for specials. Big Powderhorn right in village, Blackjack and Indianhead 5 - 10 min drive. ABR xc ski trails nearby, Wolverine xc trailhead at Big Powderhorn, sled trails take Powderhorn Rd to Trail 2. Right out our door. Tubing at Mt. Zion/Gogebic Comm College Ski Area Management program, Ironwood. Black River Harbor, boat slips, picnic area and boat launch 12 miles away at Lake Superior. Little Girl's Point 15 - 20 minute drive.
