Comfortable Bungalow near Historic Harpers Ferry!
This Bungalow is located near the Potomac River in quaint Knoxville, MD. It is very close to Harpers Ferry, WV, Antietam National Battlefield, historic Sharpsburg, MD, the C&O canal and other local attractions. There are 2 homes available on the property. This Bungalow is new construction and includes a full modern kitchen and 1 full bath, washer/dryer and sleeps 6 comfortably. Pets are welcomed (small fee) but must be crated when unattended. NOTE: We did initially have an issue with a sulfur odor in the hot water only. While the water is, and was, perfectly safe, we have now replaced parts of the water heater and treated the hot water so the condition has been corrected. The unit offers an open space for enjoyable social gatherings and views of the mountain. The "nest" deck (shared by both houses) provides wonderful views of the mountains. The living area includes two convertible sofas that sleep 4 comfortably on a new Ikea furniture. The bedroom has a new memory foam queen size bed. The Bungalow also provides a full bath with tub/shower combo, and an additional half. All the furnishings and linens are new! I will not be available to interact with guests. Just 2 miles from the property, nestled in the rising foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains next to the Potomac River sits the Victorian railroad town of Brunswick. Conveniently located approximately 60 minutes from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Brunswick boasts glorious homes, an active city center, shopping, historical sites, a one of a kind railroad museum, dining and recreational activities. Brunswick is very proud of its rich transportation heritage and you can experience it for yourself by visiting the Brunswick Railroad Museum or participating in Brunswick Railroad Days in October, featuring live entertainment, train rides, model train show, crafters, food, and much more. Because the Potomac River is only a short walk from the downtown shops, recreational opportunities abound. The waterfront offers fishing, boating, camping, kayaking and canoeing, and the C&O Canal towpath is excellent for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. Finally, no visit to Brunswick is complete without stopping by Beans in the Belfry, a café located in a 100 year old, historic, restored church building nestled in downtown Brunswick. There is parking on the property that is shared with the other home. There is also overflow parking a few feet away. We offer special discounts for renting both houses, check with me for details. Pets under about 50 lbs are welcomed at an additional fee of $25 per pet, per stay, but must be crated when unattended. I can make exceptions to the fee structure for small dogs or multiple pets. The fee will be collected via separate payment request. The sofa in the great room easily converts to a bed. Bed linens for the convertible are stored in the sofa. In support of the global effort to conserve energy resources utilizing reasonable practices, we have installed Ecobee “smart” thermostats in all of our listings that the guests can also control. The thermostats are preset with a maximum heating setting of 72 degrees and a minimum cooling setting of 72 degrees.
